Batman Origins- Didn't feel the same as the other two, clunky, and story wise just not up to par.
Total war games after Rome: Total War - Lost complete interest, just couldnt get into them anymore, not sure why.
Fallout New Vegas - Tried to play it for the first time recently...just looks ugly and felt old. Don't know how or what I saw in Fallout 3.
Grand Theft Auto IV - Never really got past a certain point and didn't feel captivated to go any further.
Tons more...trying to remember.
What is a game you bought but never really got into it?
For me I played the first couple levels of Black & White but never really got into it. The concept was really cool but the game was really too complicated with both being a god and having a creature, too much micromanaging.
That's what's taking so long. They not only have to create a modern new game engine, they also have to figure out how to build in stuttering. The Total War series is plagued with bugs that destroy the design of the game. When the AI armies don't even attack the walls during a siege you can become quite bored with the game. Also, the main campaign, after civil war or defeating immediate neighbors, also gets repetitive and boring.
Fall out sorely needs an updated engine for the next one.
Batman Arkham Asylum. I never really got into it, stopped after a few levels. I know it's supposed to be a console game, but the reviews were so good... was a disappointment, with cardboard cutout villains and dialog.
"Joker."
"Batman!"
"Let the hostages go."
"No."
"I'm coming for you Joker."
"You've got to catch me first!"
The above is roughly the caliber of dialog. I kept waiting for it to get better. It didn't.
The graphics were fake-looking... plasticky.
Combat was just bad, with typical "boss" battles where you have to hit them at particular times or whatever. Total console kiddie game. I played Dishonored right afterwards and as you might expect, the difference in voice acting, dialog, combat, stealth, atmosphere, etc. was leaps better than that Batman garbage.
The Walking Dead
Amnesia
Oblivion and Skyrim both need to be modded up. At release they are pretty but empty and sort of mindless. I'm a dozen hours or so into a new game of Skyrim with a ton of immersion mods and it's like a completely different game.
Haha yeah that sums up how I felt.
As for dishonored I still couldn't get into it but I need to give it another shot.
I buy games that I never would have looked at before due to steam. I love what steam has brought the community. So many indie games would have never been possible without it and it even shined light on very niche titles like Euro Truck and the Divinity series.
I gave that game about 90 min. Found it terrifically boring. I just don't get the love for batman honestly at all.Batman Arkham Asylum. I never really got into it, stopped after a few levels.
