I buy games that I never would have looked at before due to steam. I love what steam has brought the community. So many indie games would have never been possible without it and it even shined light on very niche titles like Euro Truck and the Divinity series.

It'd be easier to list the games I have gotten into. Between Steam, Blizzard, Uplay, and Origin I have well over 250 PC games (226 in steam alone). How many have I played for more than a few hours? less than 10% safe to say. I own but have still yet to get into any of the Metro/Assassin's Creed/The Witcher/Mass Effect/Deux Ex/etc series.

With extremely limited time as a working dad, I find myself regularly falling back on games that I know well rather than investing much in learning how to play something new. So, I end up playing a lot of Batman, Borderlands, Bioshock, Civ V, X-Com. And even those I really only made time for by giving up WoW a few years ago.

Oh yeah, and I never even finished HL1 or HL2, much less the next episodes. And probably only played Portal 1 for about 35m. I'm a terrible gamer.

Dishonored, I played that for about 4 hours and just couldn't get into it. Didn't like the story or the art in it at all.

Dead Space 3. I played the first 2 which were a drag and the story wasn't that good so I gotten about 1/3 into the 3rd and gave up.

Batman Origins- Didn't feel the same as the other two, clunky, and story wise just not up to par.

Total war games after Rome: Total War - Lost complete interest, just couldnt get into them anymore, not sure why.

Fallout New Vegas - Tried to play it for the first time recently...just looks ugly and felt old. Don't know how or what I saw in Fallout 3.

Grand Theft Auto IV - Never really got past a certain point and didn't feel captivated to go any further.

Tons more...trying to remember.

The Total War series is plagued with bugs that destroy the design of the game. When the AI armies don't even attack the walls during a siege you can become quite bored with the game. Also, the main campaign, after civil war or defeating immediate neighbors, also gets repetitive and boring.

Fall out sorely needs an updated engine for the next one.

What is a game you bought but never really got into it?

For me I played the first couple levels of Black & White but never really got into it. The concept was really cool but the game was really too complicated with both being a god and having a creature, too much micromanaging.

Batman Arkham Asylum. I never really got into it, stopped after a few levels. I know it's supposed to be a console game, but the reviews were so good... was a disappointment, with cardboard cutout villains and dialog.

"Joker."
"Batman!"
"Let the hostages go."
"No."
"I'm coming for you Joker."
"You've got to catch me first!"

The above is roughly the caliber of dialog. I kept waiting for it to get better. It didn't.

The graphics were fake-looking... plasticky.

Combat was just bad, with typical "boss" battles where you have to hit them at particular times or whatever. Total console kiddie game. I played Dishonored right afterwards and as you might expect, the difference in voice acting, dialog, combat, stealth, atmosphere, etc. was leaps better than that Batman garbage.

That's what's taking so long. They not only have to create a modern new game engine, they also have to figure out how to build in stuttering.

Bioshock 1. Too buggy. Was always getting stuck in a level and not able to progress. All tasks were completed, but I just could not progress. No error messages, game ran fine on my computer.First two times I was close to the beginning, so I just reinstalled and everything seemed fine. The second replayl I got over halfway through the game...same problem. No solutions on gaming sites, etc. so I just gave up. Never bought another bioshock game.

Got the second Bioshock game in my library, mean to finish the first but then couldn't so of course the second sits untouched.

The recent Batman game is a second game i put little time into, ran into a boss i couldn't defeat and that was about it.Game wasn't all that great anyways but i truly want to finish it. Only have the game cause it came included with my gtx770.

Haha yeah that sums up how I felt.

As for dishonored I still couldn't get into it but I need to give it another shot.

Oblivion and Skyrim both need to be modded up. At release they are pretty but empty and sort of mindless. I'm a dozen hours or so into a new game of Skyrim with a ton of immersion mods and it's like a completely different game.

Be willing to share the mods you used?

Dishonored starts off pretty slow, but it's really good if you want to play a cross between Bioshock and Deux Ex Human Revolution. I played a nonlethal character, but you can play a rampaging maniac as well.

GTA IV, took forever to get it to work, and was a horrible experience. Not optimized for the PC at all. The constant cellphone drove me insane. Went and played Vice City if I wanted to have a good GTA.

Bioshock infinite - I just couldn't get into the Ayn Rand slash utopiod society backbone of the story. Not my thing.

Divinity is not niche. It was a classic RPG series.

I gave that game about 90 min. Found it terrifically boring. I just don't get the love for batman honestly at all.

Dis honored was good enough to finish but not much more. Highly overrated.

Bioshock=bought this years ago and still just play halfway through then i play something else and that is about it.

Bioshock2=want to finish the first one,go this and the first on a Steam bundle sale.:D

BF4=fun in short bursts, every patch brings on new issues that pretty much just piss me off.Seen random issues and bugs make a return,go poof with a new patch then come back again.Done with this game for a while i think.

DNF=nothing needs to be said here.

Batman Arkham Origins=looks fun but just lose interest in it.Shocked when i couldn't attack enemies and then you need to macro a key for it.Like ok i guess. Lets Macro a key so we could shoot someone in BF4.

The new Thief reboot.. played the first 2 levels and didn't hate it but didn't like it. Felt a little consolized with the rope arrows and the levels were linear.

Probably 80% of my steam library. Most notably (popular games that I couldn't get into but did try):

Amnesia
Anno 2070
Bastion
Batman games
Deus Ex HR
Dishonored
Endless Space
Max Payne 3
Metro 2033
Risen
Stalker
SPELUNKY (Why did so many people get into this game?!?)
TF2
Thief (New)
