Name a game you own but just never go into

Black and White
Borderlands 1 & 2
Splinter Cell
The Sims (I have the first one)
Myst and Riven (I did finish Riven but it was extremely tedious)
Dead Space (got it free and got stuck on a bug where I couldn't walk through a doorway)
Freelancer
Warcraft and Starcraft (all of them)

Dead Space (got it free and got stuck on a bug where I couldn't walk through a doorway)

You need to turn on Vsync and that problem will go away.

The Vsync implementation in that game introduces horrible input lag though, so the actual solution is to force triple buffering through a third party program and you should be golden.

On that thought though, Dead Space was a really boring game for me anyway and belongs on the list of "games I could never get into".

Starting out with NBA 2K14.(playing on PC,but using a Xbox 360 controller..).

It's been a long time since I used a gamepad, and it is really awkward to use.
(for me at least.)

(I'm sure once I get more practice,I'll get better. It's just hard right now.)

That didn't work, I actually asked here and was given that recommendation. Vsync whether it was on in the game, on in the control panel or any combination of those, didn't fix it.

Interesting, I guess it depends on the setup then. The PC version of Dead Space 1 was notorious for being an awful port though so it doesn't surprise me.

You're not missing out on much. 🙂

- Doom 3. This strayed too far from the fast paced "you vs 50 monsters in a small room" feel of Doom 1-2. I found Serious Sam more of a fun sequel to Doom 2 than Doom 3.
:

Doom 3 goes down as one of the worst games to me. It was too irritating how you had to walk past something for a monster to jump out at you, over and over again. Maybe would have worked in the 90's but not when it was released in the 2000's.

The Witcher - Bug in the Swamps keeps stopping my progress (3 different PC's so far).
Bioshock - Just never played it around launch and now just can't get more than a few minutes in before giving up and doing something fun.
Sleeping Dogs - DLC fest, too much DLC so when I finally got the complete lot in a sale I had lost interest.
Saints Row 4 - As Above, DLC...
Homefront - It just felt stale and was rather obtuse.
Ghost Recon Future Soldier - GRAW & GRAW 2 were fun but this one just wasn't.
Starcraft 2 - I'll play it when the full game is out (all 3 campaigns).

Tomb Raider
Batman Arkham Origins
Age of Wonders 3
Transformers Fall of Cybertron
ZombiiU
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Shadowrun Returns
Bastion
Assassins Creed Revelations and Black Flag (never tried III)
Outlast

There's also quite a few other games I've gotten in Humble Bundles and whatnot that I haven't touched, but I've only listed the games I've played at least once and felt no desire to finish.

I've got maybe four dozen Steam games I've either not played or played less than two hours - I just can't seem to get enthused about playing anything other than Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, or Counterstrike: Global Offensive anymore. Of the ones that I started and played only a couple hours or less, Medal of Honor Airborne, ARMA and ARMA 2 (slow learner apparently), and the last Aliens stand out. (I was wrong; apparently it CAN really be that bad.)

These are the generally well liked games that somehow I just couldnt get into:

Both Witcher games
Morrowind
Fallout 3
Far Cry 3
All the total war games (not so much didnt like them as just was really terrible to the point they were no fun)

Baldur's Gate.

I have probably started that game a dozen times over the years. I have purchased it on three separate occasions. The result is always the same. A few hours in and I am ready to move onto something else.

Same here, except I bought the EE version and tried it again. With the UI fixed to something that isn't torturous to use, I found that I love the game and ended up putting hundreds of hours into the game and its sequel.

WoW. I tried it at a friends house because I figured that it must be pretty good if it is so popular. It had some of the worst user interface controls I have ever seen in an RPG. To this day I can't understand how it became so popular, when the controls are so unintuitive and weird that it is hard to do anything. Plus the early gameplay was extremely boring.

Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl

just too dated. audio assets too shitty. i just can't waste my time on it with so many other more polished games I want too play.

Mass Effect 3 - played the first two and started on the third. The dialog and writing was terrible though.

That's good to know. I bought both BG1 and BG2 EE versions during the summer sale so I'll give it another shot.

Dragon Age 2. Played DA1 and liked it, and got DA2 in some Steam sale, but the bad word-of-mouth has kept me from trying it.

Total War games. I love Paradox strategy games, and when I tried one of the Total War games (Medieval 2 I think), it just wasn't as enjoyable as Europa Universalis 4 or Crusader Kings 2, not by a longshot.

If you had asked this a few weeks ago I would have included Skyrim. It was in my library since release date, but after a couple of failed attempts I abandoned it. But some 3 weeks ago I gave it another chance and this time stuck with it, finished it a week or so ago.

Oh yeah, Borderlands 1 and 2. Got the first one for like 10 bucks, and the 2nd came free with a video card. What a boring game 🙁. I thought the "humor" was pretty annoying...and I'm a 30 Rock fan/humor type of guy.
