They've switched to a new website and also removed the invite system since open beta is coming up. From now until then, no more invites, sorry
 
The new website is looking pretty cool though I stopped playing Mythos because the game felt too much like a MMORPG (grinding) when I really was expecting something akin to the spiritual successor to Diablo II (it's similar in a LOT of ways but it was a mistake making it too MMORPGish).

But since it's free, I might just fire it up again sometime, I got accepted in the beta in January I think and I haven't got a single invite yet so I wouldn't hold my horses for one until the open beta phase begins.

huh? Diablo and Diablo II were the ORIGINAL grind fests and nothing more. Mythos is identical in those terms.
 
Based on the amount of content right now, I'd liken it more to beta testing Diablo 2 with just acts 1 and 2 and only 3 classes--it will obviously feel like a grind trying to get to max level in the early zones of the game. Keep in mind the game is far from finished. If you look at the world map, the current two zones are tiny. They plan on having at least 4 for release and more to come after that on a regular basis.
 
I have to say I'm enjoying this game quite a bit. Like I told the guy that gave me the invite this past week, even though the open beta should be very soon, had I had to wait until next week to play Mythos, I'd have a lot more schoolwork and house stuff done, and that wouldn't be no fun! 😀

Yeah it is quite repetitive, even more so than D2 IMO, but still fun and addictive to play. Very very similar to D2, so everyone who liked that should definitely try this game.

Can't wait for the new zone, crafting, weapon and skill balances, and hopefully a new class or two eventually.

I'll add some more comments later (right now I need to eat then play Mythos)

Well Diablo had a story and meaningful bosses and people to talk to, it actually felt like an Epic quest, there were no pointless fetching sidequests or anything like that, it was RPG action at it's best, Mythos is pretty MMORPG-ish, there is no main arc, you just keep fetching quest and traversing through meaningless dungeons with meaningless monsters and meaningless gear, just like an MMORPG, don't get me wrong, the game is pretty fun and the mechanics are solid as hell, it just feels a little too MMORPG-ish for ***MY*** tastes when I was really expecting a follow-up to Diablo not a Diablo MMORPG.

From reading their forums, most people expect:
a) Zone 3
b) Crafting
c) PvP
to be released in this patch. I didn't read too deeply, but I think *some* of that was backed with developer comments.
 
Zone 3 is now live. Log into the beta site and download it.

I think the game servers are still down though.
 
Yeah all those thinks are supposed to be in there.

First try the server was down, then I tried 5 min later and it worked. I was sorting through a crapload of items I got last night when some guys helped me run through this higher level place, and then nothing worked. There was still chatting going on in the game but it was basically hosed so I just quit.

Hopefully it'll smooth out sometime tonight.

From what I seen, its a pretty badass update.
 
is it too late to get into Mythos? I just learned about it and it looks GREAT! I would really like to try it.

Invites no longer work, and the devs have stated Mythos is moving to an open beta. Once they establish the servers are stable for the current user base and ready for an influx, they'll make that transition. I'd guess anywhere from a week to a month; I am just getting back into it myself and haven't kept up-to-date on their forums.
 
Mythos is a cool little game been playing it since Hellgate beta.

Fun and all but I really wish they had more classes.
 
Well, I've been playing Mythos lately. Lets just say that I haven't played any other games since getting an invite, and I've fallen behind on other things as well! 🙂

It's like Diablo 2 in many ways, so I'm not surprised at how much I've been playing it. Some of the annoying things with D2 are still there, others are not. It's quite repetitive but still a lot of fun.

My biggest problem with Guild Wars, and to a lesser extent with Diablo 2, is very much present in this game. That problem is finding people to party with for doing quests. There is so many different quests in each zone, and a random, infinite (I believe) quest giver in each zone. So it's difficult to find people of a similar level who need to complete the same quests as you. Some people like myself don't mind having to go through one or two quests that I've already done to provide help to others, but if I'm going to be partying with a group for an hour or two, I better be doing some of my own quests as well. So as it is, I've only been able to get a group for a couple of quests, like Tinus in zone 2, a boss quests similar to D2 where you could always find a group to kill Duriel, Mephisto, or some other boss. But for the minor quests inbetween the bosses, well you are more than likely on your own. And even though boss quests are more likely to get a party together, there is still VERY few parties ever listed in the public party screen! Almost all of the time, there is none listed, one or two listed on occassion, and never any more!

So the grouping thing is kind of a drag, but even in Elite mode with my first character, the game is quite easy, so I can solo almost every quest except a few boss battles are difficult.
 
I have a beta key from a while back, I'm not sure if it still works. I'd forgotten all about the game until I saw this thread. Might have to try it this weekend.

Welcome aboard. Seems they are letting a slew of new people on. The amount of complete IDIOTS on it now is gretaly detracting from the fun I must say though. I now recall why I stopped playing games online.
 
I still Mythos an hour or two almost every night.

My main character is a level 34 Gadgeteer in elite mode (have a few level 4-5s for holding gear), name: SubOx.

Add to your friends list and message me when online if you need any gear, help with quests, or just whatever. Remember, elite mode only though.

No one knows for sure. I thought it would've been by now. But they have opened up the email registrations again for the closed beta. They also did a server stress test yesterday so all signs point to the open beta being very soon. From what a dev said on the forums, they will be inviting people from the new email registration list right up until open beta, so if you don't feel like waiting, I'd enter you email, as I've heard from some that they got invites like the same day after entering.
