So I am 33 years old, married to a woman that has 3 kids, 16-boy, 14-girl, and 12-girl. All the kids are my step children.

About a month ago we were getting phone calls from "kids" acting stupid, telling me that they were going to kill me...yadda yadda. Then 5 days ago we got a call and they called the youngest a whore.

how they got the home phone # was a mistery. No one in the house gave it out, yeah right.

Now the wife is pissed at me for blocking myspace from all the pc's, because myspace is something the kids like to do.

Am I wrong as a step parent?
 
MySpace is a plague on humanity. You are doing the nation and your fellow man a service by blocking it in your household.

blocking it at home will just make them hostile and post more stupidly to the same site at a friends house.
 
not at all. but if they are curious, teach them why you blocked it, and that they are not at a suitable age for being able to view the content.

a coworker came in one day saying that there are a bunch of profiles that retard the good name of the U.S. bad patriotism if you'd ask me. then the goth profiles are just insanely pathetic, for real, they are loser-high school students who have nothing better to do with their time. people say stuff like killing themselves and that their parents are going to shoot them 'n trash like that. I've never seen for myself, but there's also pornography on it, no doubt. anyhow, myspace is like every other blogger, you get good stuff, then you get trash that isn't healthy for kids or anyone who wants a good relationship. cyber life, yeah right.

update your myspace, who the hell is going to look at it, desperate guys and girls who can't face the real world~

yes I have, but the wife agrees with them.

Supposedly all they do is chat with friends.

That is why people from Kentucky have my home phone #

I don't think so. I have been around these kids since the youngest was 11 months old, and their natural father is a bum that owes us $150,000 in child support.

Just because you're not biologically their father, doesn't mean you shouldn't have just as much influence. She should agree with your decision, as long as you have a good basis and make a good argument.

Ok then, take this into consideration. She allows the kids to see thier "natural" dad even though he owes the kids all that cash. This has just started happening in the last 6 months.

ok I have seen a few replies about doing great by blocking myspace, care to post some reasons why, so my wife doesn't think that I am Hitler.

That is what she calls me now :\
 
Mypsace sucks, but they're not your kids. Don't block myspace on the computers unless she's cool with it

MySpace opens networking to people who are hiding behind the anonimity of the internet. The general attitude of MySpace is that of a negative one, and it attracts a lot of the wrong crowd. Kids get the idea that they should post ...revealing pictures of themselves because they see the attention others are getting by doing it.

He's been raising the kids for more than a decade. I think he's entitled to some say in the matter.

because all the emos (aka scum of the earth) hang out there. they are a bad influence. do you really want your kids dying their hair black, cutting their wrists, and acting depressed because they think its cool? not to mention listen to the crappiest music ever made
