<< I see breast implants as a result of lack of self esteem... :/ >>

Yes, I gave my opinion, then I said:

<< but as long as you enjoy them, and she likes them - that's all that matters >>

so get off my back

Looking at hot models plastered with silicone is just that, looking at models. I agree that stuff like that objectifies women, but it's just like watching a movie, you suspend your disbelief. At the point where it actually starts infiltrating your life, then you've gone too far and entertainment has overstepped its bounds. I like looking at pictures of models, sure, but I sure as hell don't want a 6'4" blonde-hair blue-eyed girl with 40C's. It's 90% make-up anyway.

With that said, this thread was started as a nef anyway. 10 bucks says the guy's not even married. No husband in their right mind would promptly post his wife's plastic surgery information on a computer hardware forum unless he was some wack trailer-trash. And I hesitate to belief that trailer-trash frequents Anandtech.

Oh you are so wrong. This is nothing compared to the things I have seen posted here... *shudders* (I am not saying he isn't lying - anonymity gives people great freedom)

Congratulations to you and your wife. Personally, I don't like implants, but I hope they help your wife out (and give you extra to play with).

So why is she getting it done in South America?

Carbo has previously lamented that his wife likes to walk around in front of the picture window completely nude (I think I am remembering this correctly), but just think if she was like that when insecure, she'll be whipping them out in the grocery stores and restaurants if she has something to be proud of ;)

Yet another moron posting opinions, stating them as fact, and passing judgement based on erroneous conclusions. I don't imagine you've ever sat on a jury. At least I hope you haven't.
One other thing. Trailer trash does frequent ATOT. You're proof of that.

To take the risk of surgery for cosmetic purposes im my opinion is foolhardy. General anesthesia is not a picnic and the risk of infection and other complications is not worth it. I would hug my wife and tell her I love her the way she is and spend the money on yourselves in other ways.

I agree. Most people's response here was putting themselves in this woman's shoes. Your wife getting cut to get larger breasts does not IN GENERAL sound like a good idea to me. Your mileage will vary. Not a condenmnation but an expressed concern.

*mourns the loss of another perfect chest*

*sigh* I feel so depressed every time someone does this...

SMALL BREAST LOVERS OF THE WORLD UNITE! We must rescue our beloved small chested waif's from the clutches of evil inflators everywhere.

Seriously, whatever makes her happy, go for it, but I really really REALLY dislike large chests, and I consider anything over 34B large.

<< and Viper GTS's recent poll showed that most of us like breasts the size your wife originally had. >>

Who cares what breast size the other memebers of ATOT like the best. The fact that his wife made a decision to go through with this operation is reason enough to be supportive. The effects of this operation will only affect the lives of Carbo and his wife, none of the members here on ATOT, so the breast size of choice (to most ATOT members)is irrelevant.

<< Notice the "i hope"? He didn't accuse you of anything. And whats wrong with him saying that they're too large for his tastes? >>

What's wrong with that is this is Carbo's wife. Not Rand's, not yours, not mine, not anybody's except Carbo's. Who cares what Rand's tastes are! He doesn't have to live with her.

Maybe he wants to keep the reasons for this operation between himself and his wife. If you can't offer support and best wishes for her during the operation, then don't say anything. Maybe she is doing it because she has low-self esteem, maybe she's doing it to enhance their sex lives (just giving examples here). The point is, who cares? You don't have to live with either of them, and until Carbo gives some reason as to why the operation is being done, you can't judge him or his wife for going through with it.

To each his own. That's what I say. Some men don't like breasts at all. I have a buddy like this. He likes his women to have no breasts at all and as flat a butt as possible. I'd call that "a guy", but he likes 'em that way! More power to him.

Than why post it all. If you post it, they will come. Plus, his tone was not one of "Wish my wife luck on her operation". It was intended to provoke a response. I think most people were actually concerned why the woman was having the procedure performed and the overall restraint shown was quite refreshing.

I dunno man. We've all seen the porno (yes you have, don't lie to yourself) with the chic with HUGE tittas, and there so unnatural. Its like two Nerf balls held onto her chest by a little strap of velcro. And why South America? Isn't it still legal here? Its your wifes call, but man, I dunno.

It is in MY OPINION that a guy who's thread title "My wife's gettin' new big uns," is either:

1. Not thinking straight
2. Pretty much an idiot
3. A Nef
4. All of the above

And Carbo, if you're so heated up about people casting judgement "Oh I just HATE how people judge me!" then might I offer you several solutions to be a little more believable.

1. Think.
2. Follow your own advice -> Calling me trailer trash back is casting judgement on me. But I don't mind if you judge me. I post and people judge me according to the rhetoric I use and the arguments I make. And I judge you on your idiotic thread title and content.

I hope everything goes well with the procedure and that the new product has the desired effect on your collective behavior now and in the years to come.

Oprah, this is NOT a computer hardware forum. Shouldn't your opinions be based on some knowledge of the matter at hand? You assume I'm not married. Greater still, you state as fact what every husband will or will not do. And because I act or think differently than you, I am relegated to "wack trailer-trash".
I guess there's no room in your little world for anyone who might not be you, huh?
