OMG, We found a topic that n0cmonkey and I disagree on.
Fvck drugs, Fvck drug users, and Fvck drug dealers. Drugs DO ruin peoples lives.. Sure the people made the choice, but the hold these drugs had on the people was too much for them.. Trust me, I know how hard it is to give up nicotine, let alone crack.
No no no. Drugs do not ruin anyone's life. The people that take the drugs choose to let themselves fall into that trap.
You chose to smoke. You knew the consequences, and you did it anyways. Live and learn.
Divert some of the billions of dollars spent on this "war on drugs" to real education. Not the BS "DARE" or other programs designed to scare without imparting knowledge, but give people the real deal. Then, let them make educated choices instead of regulating someone's state of conscousness.
Niccotine is more addictive than most narcotics.
Narcotics provide no positive benefits. There's nothing good about them. Their existance in the world is to ruin human lives.
I'd say the same is true of cigarettes.
I think you fail to understand the raw hatred involved in this argument, n0cmonkey. If you could line up 5 drug dealers in a field, down on their knees, I would feel no remorse in walking down the line of them and shooting them all, one at a time. They're not people, they're monsters, demons even. They've made the choice to ruin other peoples lives in exchange for money.
The same can be said for politicians, the CEOs that approve dumping waste in the waters, manufacturers of guns that are not suitable for hunting food.
People want drugs. Drugs give them pleasure, enlightenment, or an escape (whatever word they use to justify the use). Drug dealers provide that substance people are looking for. It's capitalism at its best. You don't like drugs? Don't do them.
EDIT: One of my solutions puts the drug dealers out of business, the other makes it much less profitable. If it wasn't as profitable, they'd all move over to smuggling cigarettes (which is big trade around here apparently).
