Look, its universally agreed that the guy doesnt know what he's doing. But the way it is, if the system works, nobody else cares what the optimal could have been besides you and me and the the rest of the forumers here. Your dad and mother and sister, they just don't. If you do anything more at this point you'll just be further making an ass out of yourself and causing havoc within your family for no real reason... other than that you can't stand seeing things suboptimal where you could make a difference and you're bitter for being passed over and ignored because of your status. he's not really an idiot... for a girl going to college, she's not going to notice the difference between an 845 and an 865 chipset.. i'd buy whatever's cheapest, and likely the 845 is that. the AMD comment about being less reliable is retarded.

True, but many of them don't ask "gee, is this a good system?" to one of us until they've already gone to Walmart or Staples to purchase a system. By then, it's already too late!

Oh well. I guess that's how companies like eMachines have stayed in business for so long...
