he's 15, doesnt really know how life works, when i was 15 in school calling some one gay was an insult, being gay was a dirty thing.

now im 20 i realise people being gay has no bearing at all on anyone elses life, i have a couple of gay friends and they are pretty cool people.... we joke about them being gay from time to time, bit of fun....and they just do it back to us for being straight.

being gay isnt a big deal once you've grown up abit, but it is when your younger, because its something other kids will use to make fun of. and dont forget if his parents are rather old, they could be from a time when being gay was frowned upon.

if i was gay my mother said she'd love me just the same, and im sure my dad would too, but i cant help but think that they wouldnt look at me the same again if you know what i mean. it would be a bit wierd.

So how does that insult thing work in reverse.....

Yes, I realize all that. My questions are geared more toward making him think about what really matters in life rather than drum up excuse after lame excuse for continuing to care about sh|t that doesn't matter.

OP being gay doesnt matter to anyone, doesnt make you any less desirable as a friend or employee or whatever.
