thinking maybe i will start with alternating days of walking/running a couple miles, and 30 situps/10 pushups/like 100 jumping jacks

plus stop drinking all pop

Here is my advice. Stop eating all sorts of sugars other than fruits and vegetables, start exercising. You will lose weight without needing to do anything extra.

Diet is 99% of losing weight.. not exercise.
Thank you! I hate when people say, "I have already started eating less"....ok well in that case your setting yourself up for failure. EAT THE RIGHT STUFF.

Also, in order to:

Bulk you need a balance diet but have a SURPLUS of calories from your base calorie intake
Lose weight you need a balance diet and have a DEFICIT in calories from your base calorie intake

Of course the more muscle you put on, the more fat you will burn but generally this is the way it works. Focus on one thing at a time.
