Arg, I really don't really like these technicality argument issues. I was just meaning to point out that class 3 isn't a license but is SOT class.

A dealer, who sells machineguns, is a Type 01 (or 02 if a pawnbroker) Federal Firearms Licensee with a Special Occupational Taxpayer status of Class III.

Class III is dealing in Title II firearms (machineguns, suppressors, short barreled, shotguns, etc.). The classes go backwards. Class II is mfg. Class I is import/export. All SOTs are FFLs, but not all FFLs are SOTs.

an m16 is a machine gun, why can't you get that through your head? plus converting a ar15 to f/a is expensive - an rdias is still going to run you ~$12K+ w/ the only benefit of being able to use it in other lowers, but whatever lower it is in is a machine gun.

the ar15 was select fire originally, and was adopted by the usaf as the ar15. it wasnt adopted by tthe army until later as m16/16a1 depending on configuration. then more breakdowns like xm15 but im on my phone and typing is a pain.

Interesting. We always went by Class 1 as standard, semi-auto, Class 2 as converted or special weapons like silencers and destructive type weapons (>.50cal) and Class 3 as full auto. Looks like I have some reading to do, Thanks!

Nice pistol, I'm a huge fan of the Browning Hi-Power design that inspired the Tanfoglio, CZ-75, Armalite AR-24, etc.. though I prefer the compact models for practical use over the full size variants. I own the very similar CZ-75 P01 Compact which I used to qualify for my CC permit and I have been shooting regularly for close to 5 years now. I still haven't found any other pistol that fits as well or seems to naturally "point" like a nautral extension of my hand.

You should be able to find lots of extended capacity magazines (up to 16 rounds in the full size model you have) since it's such a popular civilian and military firearm worldwide.

I was going to say, I've seen full auto's at gun shows, and yes, if I had the cash and paid the $200 tax stamp, I too could have one since I know I would pass the backround check. I'm not walking out of there with it though since it can take up to a year to get the tax stamp.

i agree with you on the 'natural point' when i took it out shooting the other day i unloaded a few that i just aimed like i was pointing my arm out and managed to hit very close to what i wanted.

anywho, does anyone have any tips on cleaning the gun? its aged a little and i'de like to try and get some the shine back. i've heard of some solvent called gun scrub i can use on the body, but does anyone have other suggestions?

Gun scrubber is just automotive brake cleaner that is 5x more money, just so you know.

As far as the components, I use hoppes powder and copper solvent, and the only oil I will ever use is Break-Free CLP.

Butches Bore Shine might help a little too. Smells terrible though (as opposed to Hoppes, which I would love to see included as a febreeze or glade plug in scent).

Yes, wal-mart should carry both hoppes and break-free. They might only have the little jugs of brake free though, I get the big spray bottle when I buy it. One big bottle usually lasts me a good year and a half (and that is cleaning over 30 guns with it throughout that time).

Yes they are relatively easy to find.

I use a cleaner called M-Pro 7. It's a bit more expensive than the others but isn't hazardous to me or the environment.
