I'm with you but what part of the law actually says that a person can't keep her own backyard the way they want ? I can understand if there's a smell, but the junk... how come they can't keep the junk all over the place back there as they please ?

There's a word for what you're implying Fausto do: vigilantism. (I think that's the spelling) Unless your local police department is headed by Chief Wiggum, it's not going to come out that good for you.

There's a reason why they call it Law Enforcement.

Fire code, zoning regulations, and in a lot of cases beautification regulations and/or CC&Rs. (yes, that's a nice way of saying, "laws that make residents keep their houses pretty.") These regs are usually on the books to (theoretically) keep property values from going in the crapper if some packrat moves into a nice neighborhood.

Haha sorry man I didnt mean to be a jerk, but Im in a bad mood and that is where my humor usually takes me...but that is just my fundemental belief in what america is supposed to be...my anger wasn't directed at you, my second post about passive-agressiveness didnt really fully comply to your case, since I would be effing pissed if my yard smelt like poo cause of my neighbor, but it was only partically connected. I still think you should have let her keep the tub, and other shite though.

So, AVP, are you angry about this because people have given you grief about the stuff heaped outside your trailer or what? You seem to be taking this rather personally. :D

America is not founded on the right to have one's own personal junkyard. You'll understand where I'm coming from when you're old enough to own a home of your own and actually start caring about things like property values. The heaps of junk in her yard were illegal, ugly as hell, and attracting rats. I'm sorry if you find such things acceptable, but I do not.

At my parents house they got mad because while my dad was working on a car of ours he had it up on jack stands. So they sent him a warning...now how the heck is he going to work on it if it's not on jackstands. Come on now people be realistic. It's not like he can stay home from work and complete the task in one day I mean he's got to work. bah, stupid old people who go around looking for crap like that.

well i dont care if everyone thinks im an asshole, my repuation on a fricken internet message board is the least of my worries. But no really I was kinda angry in the heat of the momment. I guess you do have some complaint if say, the conditions of her property bring down the value of yours and what not. But it does have quite a few parallels to a situation I saw on the train yesturday when some dorky guy got some old shabby construction worker in trouble because he wanted to smoke a ciggarette on the subway platform. It just really pissed me off, which I sort of leaked out on to this forum, as maybe it shouldnt have, since the mess seems so much more drasitic that I originally thought it to be. Kinda like the guy who got wrote up for not cutting his grass...its crap like that that makes me sick...anyways im done ...

How many days was it up on jack stands?

If it was more than a week they might have had cause to worry. Otherwise they're being typical crotchety old people. (which are completely different from normal old people.)

Next time cover the thing with a tarp that's low enough to hide the jacks. Then they can't complain. :p
