Instead of offering buybacks like they did when they admitted the RX-8 was overrated they'll offer MS6 owners new hoods with scoops coupled with an intercooler sprayer:p

I don't hate the 6. I just think Mazda needs to address their QC issues. A coworker of mine bought a 6 last year and spent a lot of time getting the tranny and clutch replaced. I know there will always be a percentage of defect, but I read somewhere that Mazda's had better years.

Subaru wannabes.

I had high hopes for the MS6 but did the world really need another AWD turbo 4 sedan?

And it looks like they didn't even manage to get it right.

won't change the fact that the car weighs 2 tons with the driver in it. :p

They didn't get the subie right either.
I like my 05 LGT, but it rattles entirely too much, the climate control is laughably bad and the seats are terrible - like straddling a lopsided beach ball filled with 5-day-old oatmeal. Fast as it is, stuff like that really gets to you after you've had it for awhile. The seats are bad enough that I'd consider trading to the Mazda on that basis alone, if the performance was close enough.

If you've got a dash rattle its an easy fix. If its more metallic there's a pretty easy fix for that as well unless you've got an uncommon one.

i've traced down and fixed all but one rattle so far -- and i think that it's only there becuase of a botched stereo install with some left over loose wires. So yeah, the rattles are annoying, but easily fixed.

I agree on the seats though, I get terrible pains in my right leg and lower back after driving for more than 2 hours.

I just had the one rattle in the driver's side dash that required the enlarging of a screw hole. Now I've got no rattles or squeeks; a big part of the reason I wanted a new car.

I'm going to try that trick in the spring. I also see that the 06 GT seats are different from the 05...I wonder how unspeakably much $$$ it would cost to get an 06 seat swapped in. The other quirks I can live with, but the seats really do mess with my enjoyment of the car. It's a shame because it completely kicks ass in most other respects.

if you didn't put all that suspension work and low profile wheels/tires on your last car, you might not have had any problems. :p

? I was in my friend's 06 for a few days last weekend and the seats didn't seem any different except for the leather (he's got an '06 GT Limited wagon, I've got an '05 GT non-limited sedan).

the '06 leather seats are different on the exterior (made of up 3 leather panels instead of 2) - however internally they are identical from what i've seen.

I'm pretty skinny so other people may not have the same problem with them I do. My problem is that the bottom pad - where my butt lands - is convex instead of flat like most seats, so I always feel like I'm teetering on top of a sphere. Or I end up riding down one side or the other smushed against the bolsters with one side of my a$$ 1/2" higer than the other. It's very strange - I've never encountered seats quite like this. Anyway, the 06 seats have a different butt pad than the 05. That extra panel might flatten it out enough - they obviously put it there for a reason. Don't know what it would take to upgrade them though.

just curious why people block out their license on car pictures. if we were to see you on the road we could look at your license. if you could actually do something just by knowing someone's license plate then i feel sorry for that van in the background
