Lol,the man just rolled in here with 2 dozen flowers, chocolates and the nicest card for me!

We're in the middle of a north eastern storm here in Boston! :Q

AAAAAAAAWWWW!!!! WHY CAN'T OTHER MEN GET THAT WOMEN LIKE TO BE SURPRISED?!??!!

That is so wonderful! Good for you at having a husband that goes out of his way!

Getting flowers, chocolates and a card on Valentines day is a surprise, now? Yeah, just like it was a surprise getting a cake on my last birthday.

The wind is about 50 miles an hour and freezing sleet/rain are pouring down. He gets the props for going out in this weather,he cerayinly didn't have to.

Aye, and it's the thought that counts. Some people wouldn't bother to do anything. All I was commenting on is it wasn't anything amazing. Perhaps the reason I'm so bitter is because Valentines day seems over-done. Maybe if he had done this on a regular day, I would give him more kudos.

But as long as you're happy.

actually,my husband keeps my vases filled with flowers regularly..

What does he own? You?

Is this good because he is stereotypical and fell for a ridiculous capitalist holiday?

No... she said she told him not to get her anything... then he surprises her with it... thats what i mean. and i think its better for a person to be surprised of a gift than to expect it.

Most men aren't stupid enough to fall into that trap and get the gift anyway.

It isn't a trap. It is a lie on the woman's behalf.

In the same respect, I own then. I gave my gf the best V-day presents, and I don't even have to roll out of bed ;)

Let me guess, you stayed home and didn't call her at all today?

LoL... we live together man, and I "gave" her the presents last night. Maybe later too ;) But yeah, I too pretended that I didn't get her anything and popped with a pair of earings.

no you idiot,it's good because he went out of his way to make my day brighter after being told not to feel pressure over this holiday!

Some of you guys are so bad..

You thump women for not expressing gratitude and appreciation for men but when one does so then you're all over it to bash.

You didn't get the memo passed around the high schools that chivalry is dead? :p

I thought Lolawiz was having a conversation with herself throughout the top half of this thread. I really gotta start paying more attention to names instead of avatars.

I ordered flowers to be delivered to my fiance at work today... and her office was closed due to the weather. Maybe she'll have some frozen roses waiting for her at work tomorrow.

I cannot stand all the bashing when someone posts something good that happened to them... other people have to come and post something negative just because... You can never win here.
So basically... men should never get women flowers, chocolates, gifts for VDay because its a Hallmark holiday when actually it is NOT.
Also, any man that buys his wife/GF/FI a diamond is bad... i could go on and on and on.

We also watched the Westminster dog show last evening Lola and my husband was kind enough to limit his disparaging comments about the toy poodle:D

The weather wasn't too bad in the morning when I left to the gym but coming home it sucked.

Anyway, later I am going to cook her a delicious Bass..err Steak, Sautéed Mushrooms and Onions and Asparagus with Feta Hollandaise Sauce.
