ARGH! My dad is taking my car tomorrow so he can drive some client up north to some deposition for some stupid trial, he is putting 140 miles on my engine and only offering me a lousy 50 bucks. I'll have to spend 10x that amount in engine repairs later on. Now I have to drive to my class in a blue mini van, how embarrassing, this really bites. :|
if your car is that big of a piece of sh1t that it is going to cost you 500 bucks because it was driven 140 miles. take the 50 bucks and buy another piece of sh1t with it. personaly i wouldn't even ride in a car that is going to need engine repairs from driving 140 miles...
and i suppose that your dad is paying for your schooling? you sound pretty damn ungrateful to me. how come i also get the feeling that he probably also gave you the car in question?
Ok, the car is a '99 Chevrolet Lumina with 75,500 miles on it. I spent $100 on preventative maintanance on it every 3 months at Jiffy Lube. Plus I try to keep the mileage down by not taking unnecessary trips. I'm really trying to get this car to last.
Big deal, that's worth all of about $14...Originally posted by: CallTheFBI
A. He is putting 140 miles on my engine.
What's wrong with a minivan? Lots of kids don't have wheels, be glad he trusts you to drive his car.B. I have to drive around town in a god damn minivan tomorrow.

By the way I have an update for you people. This morning I had to drive my mom to work and spend $30 on gas. Then I had to give her $10 for lunch. THEN when I got home the gardener had to be paid, so I had to give him another $60. I'm getting shafted left and right today! All of that on TOP of my dad taking my car. Ok, this is really starting to suck.

eh, hes paying about the industry standard for mileage. and is he paying for the gas too?
No, I paid for the gas that is in the tank. His boss is reimbursing him for the trip and I am trying to get him to give me that money too.
why r u throwing such a big hissy fit? i don't know ur relation with ur dad, but is he not the same guy who brought u into this world and raised u? borrowing ur car isn't that big a deal. if my dad asked to borrow my car, i would have no problem with it, much less take the $50. and besides... he's not leaving u hanging without a ride. blue minivan or pink polka dot minivan... it gets from point a to point b.

I would but I'm not 21. Rental companies don't rent to anyone under the age of 21. They are very anal.![]()

I got it used and it cost $3,000. I paid $1,000 of that and offered to pay back the rest but my parents didn't want me to.
LOL! That's even worse!!!Originally posted by: jaeger66
So your parents paid for 2/3 of your car and you have the nerve to charge them $50 to drive it? :disgust:

LOL! I hope his dad finds this thread!Originally posted by: Wingznut
What amazes me even more, is that he even posted this thread. If I were that much of an ungrateful son, I surely wouldn't be telling everyone.
Then don't take it, hoof it for a day if you're so bothered by the van.Originally posted by: CallTheFBI
Yeah well they don't know how crappy my dad's van is. They don't know how damn embarassing it will be driving it around.
Oh God thank you, you made the point!!!Originally posted by: dahunan
You are starting to scare me with all this "I live in the same house, but not with them"
DO YOU LOVE YOUR PARENTS?
You sounding like a realy anti-social person who thinks their parents are only in their way. Give you Dad a friggin hug when he leaves tomorrow and ask him to drive safely.
Feel lucky you even have parents to bitch about

I could move out but I would have to get probably 2 other jobs which wouldn't allow me to continue my education.
