I was able to stick with power snatches but I had to break them up by the second round. Is the wod officially just ground to overhead so that you can sub c&j or was it supposed to be power snatches?

I think I lost count of the rounds during the wod and am not sure if I actually hit 5 and forgot to mark off one of the rounds. However, I did look up at the clock and see that it was 8:00 when I started the last round and I had to struggle to finish the last 5 snatches by 10:00 so I probably did only make it to 4. I am happy that I was actually able to string together at least 7 double unders at a time during the wod. That's usually the first thing to go for me.

Yep it's really ground to overhead, so long as everything is locked out at the top. It's weird they said Power Snatch and on the printouts it says power snatch but the standards videos showed CnJ as ok.

I probably would have kept with power snatch anyway even if I had known it was ground to overhead. It's faster and at that weight I was still able to string 5 of them together by the end. Though I wonder if i could keep cnj unbroken for all 15 at that weight even in the higher rounds.

open wod 14.2:

continue for as long as you can complete the reps in the given 3 minute period

00:00 - 03:00 minutes

10 overhead squat 95#; 10 chest to bar pullups; 10 overhead squat 95#; 10 chest to bar pullups

03:00 - 06:00 minutes

12 overhead squat 95#; 12 chest to bar pullups; 12 overhead squat 95#; 12 chest to bar pullups

06:00 - 09:00 minutes

14 overhead squat 95#; 14 chest to bar pullups; 14 overhead squat 95#; 14 chest to bar pullups

etc.

total: only 11 reps (the first 10 overhead squat and a single chest to bar pullup)

I can't do chest to bar pullups. I ended up just doing regular pullups and dropping the weight on the overhead squats just so I could get a good workout in.

what's holding you back on the c2b pullups? for 14.2, it (the bar) really just has to be below the collarbone.

I can't make contact with the bar with my chest. Doesn't it have to make contact? I'm always about an inch away for some reason.

^^yeah, unfortunately it lists you have to make contact. Unless you can qualify for masters, which only needs chin over bar.

But I'd say do again with the height you can pull to just to see how it stacks up

I never got around to trying it again but since I failed so early I just kept going with regular pullups and I dropped the weight once it got too heavy.
