yeah, having one of the best years in his 17 was a for sure fluke. Tons of qb's pass for 4k yards with 90+ passer ratings and 25+ TD's.

I'm glad we're in agreement.

Did you see his previous two seasons? Everyone assumes that because he did well last year, he will automatically be great again this season. The odds are against him. He's 38. Before last year, he had two very poor seasons.

Kev, as an Eagles fan, I'm sure you remember the infamous "4th and 26" in the playoffs. That was against Green Bay. Anyone remember WHY the Eagles even had that opportunity to convert 4th and 26? Because Brett Favre threw one of his classic "I'm just gonna chuck it deep and hope my guy comes down with it" passes. This was in the playoffs, four years ago!

Another example as to why he shouldn't come back - the Dallas game last year. Reckless play by Favre had the Cowboys absolutely crushing the Pack. Favre got hurt, Rodgers stepped in and nearly pulled off the comeback. I'm not saying Rodgers is 100% better than Favre - I'm saying he's more than capable of filling Favre's spot, possibly doing it better, AND he's got 10+ years ahead of him to build on. The Packers would be crazy to start Favre this year.

favor has to be the most spoiled rotten prima donna SOB on the planet. he's not like a baseball pitcher who only starts 1 of every 5 games.

Heard on the radio as heading in this morning that the pack has offered 20 million to stay retired and has threatened with only authorizing the coaching staff to allow individual drills during practice and bench time during games.

i cringe and get a bit nauseous everytime i see this thread title 🙁 so lame...

i hope they trade him to the jets, it's be great seeing the pats spank him twice a year.

I'll stay retired for $20 million a year

His contract has $39 million left on it if he doesn't retire.

I'd love to see him go to the vikings, just for that opening MNF game alone. Favre comes out and retires his packers jersey, than walks to the other side of the field and dons the purple number 4. Then he hands of to peterson and watches him rack up 200 yards on the pack.

Yeah Favre in Minne would make sense. Favre always did so well on turf.
Nothing is worse than playing for Minnesota. The Vikings are the armpit of the NFL.

Skol Vikings!

Latest report is that Favre has contracted a charter flight for a nice trip from Mississippi to Green Bay tonight.

NOOO!!!

Latest report is that the Commish told both parties he was going to wait another day before approving the reinstatement so that plane may be empty if it leaves tonight.

He would be killed by 1 of two elements:

Bears fans, wanting to get revenge for the past 17 years of hell

Packers fans, for betraying them to the biggest rival in all of sports.

Uhhh, the Packers rival is the Vikings, not the Bears.

As a Vikings fan I'm a little torn on whether I'd want Favre on my team. On one hand it would be hilarious for him to be a Viking just b/c all the Packers fan who idolized Favre for 17 (or whatever) years only to watch him go to their biggest rival. On the other hand, I don't think he's that good anymore anyway. On the other hand, he's better than what the Vikes have now. But on the other hand, if we won, I'd have to live with the fact that we needed Brett frickin' Favre to do it.

No, that would be the Raiders, then Detroit, cities and teams.

I forget where I heard this joke:

Al Davis is watching the news and he see a random Palestinian kid hurling rocks at Israeli soldiers. Now this kid is throwing rock hard and far, he's even keeping the tanks at bay. So Al decides to send some scouts over and bring the kid over to Oakland for a tryout. When he gets back to Oakland, Al is so impressed with the kid that he makes him the starting QB.

Well, what do you know, the kid turns out to be a stud QB and the the Raiders win the Superbowl. As the kid is calling his Mom postgame..."
QB:" Hey Mom, I just won the Superbowl!"
Mom:"Son how could you do this to us? Just last week your brothers were shot, your Dad's been missing for weeks, and I cant let your sister leave the house because she'll get raped."

The mom breathes a long sigh and continues...., "How could you make us move to Oakland?"

You're kidding, right? The Packers-Bears are one of the oldest rivalries in the NFL. Sure, the Packers-Vikings rivalry has gained momentum but it doesnt have the history(since 1921) like the Packers-Bears.

I will argue against that. As born and raised in WI, and a life long Packers (and Favre) fan, I have to say that while the Packers/Bears is a rivalry, there is a mutual respect there amoungst the 2 teams because of the storied histories and backstories between them.

Now the Vikings? The general consensus amongst most people in WI is "Fuck them and the horse they road in on" There is ZERO respect and ZERO compassion between these two teams.

National media hypes the "rivalry" between Bears and Packers, but its nothing more than a respectful game.

Ask the players too. Its been said over and over that the have the same feelings.
