I just finished building my dream computer and I was wondering if there are any games yall can think of that will challenge my system. My graphics card is the second most powerful ATI graphics card to date and I'm having trouble finding a game that i can wield against my GPU. Here are my system specs.
Oh, and I have heard people say to try Crysis 2, but I know I can already play that at full graphics settings just fine. I'm not asking about what monitors or resolutions will bring my computer to it's knees, I'm talking about games. Thanks

OS - Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

CPU - AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 3.3GHz

Motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-880GA-UD3H AM3 AMD 880G

Memory - Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1866

Graphics Card - MSI R6970 Lightning Radeon HD 6970 2GB 256-bit GDDR5

PSU - Rosewill LIGHTNING Series LIGHTNING-1000 1000W ATX12V/EPS12V

Case - Rosewill ARMOR Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Cooling - CORSAIR CWCH60 Hydro Series H60 High Performance Liquid

Hard Drives - Seagate Barracuda Green ST1500DL003 1.5TB 5900 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s

Well, see therein is the problem... it is very dependent on resolution. If you're gaming at 1024x768, chances are no game would tax your computer enough even at the highest settings. If you're at 2560x1600, chances are a lot of games may be able to bring your PC to its knees. To give you an idea, 2560x1600 is 5.2x bigger (pixel-wise) than 1024x768 :p.

EDIT:

The Witcher 2 will crush your computer with ubersampling on.

Heh, what can run Ubersampling? :p

Not sure how the drivers are now, but Crossfire 6970 should have a decent shot of ~30fps at 1080p and Ubersampling. I'm basing this on an estimated 90% scaling though, I sold my other 6970 before the Witcher 2 Crossfire profile came out. Single card does around 17-22fps on a 3.8GHz i7 and intel x-64e ssd.

It doesn't. I'm running a 2600k@4.8GHz, tri-Crossfire unlocked 2Gb 6950 setup and it can't handle Witcher 2 Ubersambling. Stutter-City.

Could this be a game issue fixed with updates down the road? That seems pretty pathetic a 3 card computer cant run a game cause of that setting.

Awwww, a n00bie! He cut/pasted his Newegg cart. How cute!

I hate to be the bad guy here but....

Dear Fellow Computer Geek,

Your computer is very nice, but far from uber, awesome, elite or an actual behemoth. The fact that you don't understand how resolution factors in as a most important stressing factor shows that you have a lot to learn. There are many different types of stresses that can bring any computational device to it's knees. If you want to leave the GPU out of it, run Prime95 24/7 and try to do a virus scan at the same time. Enjoy watching your Behemoth scan 2.4 files per second. You'll get the idea.

You're on the right path. I suggest continued reading of any and all hardware threads and massive lurking here in the Video Cards forum. I also suggest not dropping your nutsack on the table for all to see, pointing at it, and saying "I'll bet mine is bigger than yours!"

This is Anandtech; and my Boomstick IS BIGGER THAN YOURS.

He needed it rough...like my ex-wife. Wasn't understanding the heirarchy of things without a good spanking. ;)

He's 12, I get it. HE needs to get it though. It's our job to grow new hardware geeks. I mean, who will lead the charge of trying a new MB/memory/GPU every 6 months when I'm gone? Maybe this new kid! He's got the spirit. Well, I can see him 10 years down the road with a nitrogen chimney on top of his CPU, overclocking it to 13.23232GHz, if only for a minute and right before it smokes he scores 456,456 in 3DMark 2021 WITH 5x CPU Fargongle enabled AND 91.2 (not 91.1!) Unexplainable AntiAliasing enabled!!

You are in good form tonight. Hows does it feel seeing my recently bought Q9550 blowing yours away by a whopping, earth shattering, mega high speed of 400 mhz faster? :ninja:

Should we tell him 1000w PSU is overkill?

Nope. B/C I also have a future-proof 1Kw PSU in my box. It was in my Dual-Xeon, 10 SATA HD video editing box until the PSU in my gaming rig died about a year ago. Can never go wrong with too big of a PSU...it's like guns. Bigger is better. That's the only thing he got right in that rig. ;)

AFA your meager 400MHz overclock over MY even more meager overclock...um...congratulations, you suck. ;) I don't have the time anymore to fiddle for hours on end to get the last few MHz out of a CPU. I try some established settings right off the bat. If they hold, I leave it that way. Be in awe of my modest overclock!!!!

I was actually surprised mine did 3.6. This mobo isn't as good as my Asus was for overclocking. Its just too picky with memory settings and there isn't any BIOS support for it. I only got it cause of a need to get the system running after getting bent pins. 430 FSB memory at 1720 and its solid as a rock, if I try a multiplier to lower the ram, it wont boot.

"Even Corsair?" What's wrong w/Corsair? Built by Seasonic...as perfect as it gets (for their higher-tier PSUs anyway).

Why buy from newegg if there's no confidence in newegg branded products? LOL. It's like the Anti-Costco.
