ive got an mx-1000 and dont worry about the weight, its not bad. the batteries charge on the dockign station and takes barely any time at all. leave it on when you dont use it, and youll never see the power level drop a bar. VERY precise. you couldnt pay me to go back to corded mice. only thing... when you install the software, change some of your button setting to "default" so you can use them in games.... and firefox. I personally think the weight is perfect. oh... also, get BFG teflon pads for the bottom. It is soooooooooooooooooooooo smooth. 🙂

I had a lower-end Logitech wireless. Didn't like the precision or forgetting to charge it 🙂. Replaced it with as G5. Very happy.

Bvllshit. there is no lag with an mx-1000. And the precision is so cool. plus after you change a few things in the software, it really is nice.

I used a mx-1000 wasnt really impressed though i was using a footrest for the couch 🙂 cod at my friends house on his dad's bigscreen.
I think you should get the logitech G7 wireless mouse its suppost to be pretty good.

I had an mx1000 mouse, I just couldnt get used to it after using a MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0a for years.
The main reason behind me getting rid of the mx1000 was that I have a habit of lifting the mouse just high enough to make the laser switch off. Explorer never seemed to do that.
It could have been a few things though, because of the weight I might have been lifting the mouse higher or something, either way something I didnt want to get used to. Ive just ordered an mx518 as MS doesnt make Explorer 3.0's anymore and my current explorer 3.0 button's wont stop double clicking and/or releasing when i try to drag something 🙁 Its a shame I realy liked my ms exp3!

_Explorer 4.0's are horrible!_

I like my MX510, I couldn't stand wireless only because:
a.) cheap ones sucked
b.) sometimes too much lag
c.) those dam batteries, i don't like dealing with batteries, even if its a 15 min. charge
