I actually just replaced my MX1000 with a MX518. I had only one major problem with the MX1000... As it got older it was harder to get it to seat on the charger. I bought the MX518 and have never looked back.

A friend of mine has an MX1000 as well, and he said that he has to clean the contacts after a while...did you check them?

The MX1000 charger is way better than the old MX700 charger, I'd have a hard time believing someone has an old enough MX1000 that it won't charge. I bought mine the second the thing came out and I've never had to clean the contacts. Although, when I vacuum my room, I do vacuum the charger just incase any dust builds up at the bottom. The MX700 was notorious for bad contact with the charger, but the MX1000 resolved that.

Also, Logitech is coming up with a new lineup. Their wireless mouse will even have a weight that you can remove or add to the mouse to make it heavier / lighter. Cool stuff.

Cheaper is always good.

<-- happy owner of a blue MX510

Right on. MX510 + func1030 FTW!

Laser, because you can shoot people in the eye with it?

Seriously if it were me I would pick 1000 just on the weight alone. I love using a heavy mouse, and don't think I could game properly on a different one now.

Do you hold the MX1000 differently from the 518? I just got a 518 from Newegg and I don't like the way you have to put your ring finger on top. With my old MS 4.0 the only two fingers on top were the index and middle, and the others fell to the side. Is that how the MX1000 is?

No, the mx1000 is very ergononomic (however you spell that) And feels great. Go to your local ComUSA, FRY's, Or circuit city to feel them out.

THe mx1000 is perfect for me

Fry's doesn't have the MX1000 :|
I guess I'll go to CompUSA sometime.

What is Newegg's return policy? Their site only has an RMA policy, and doesn't say how long you have for that either.

I think you will have to pay a restocking fee and shipping. Im guessing something around the typical 30 days. If you are right handed, just get in on one of the deals where they have the mx1000 for $40 bucks. Ir really feels great and is awesome to use, gaming or web.

I'm a very high-sense player. I'm almost always looking around and moving the mouse. I couldn't deal with a heavy mouse. I like to be able to whip out a headshot with an lg in a fraction of a second. It only makes sense to preserve the natural movements of your hand that the mouse should be light. It also helps for less friction when going from 0 movement to a sudden jerk in movement, or more importantly, a gentle movement to align a zoomed shot.

I think that is a problem with different people. I can almost score always in the top 5 for the ranked 64 player serevers in bf2 with my mx1000.

What mousepad do you use?

Mx1000 is great, will never go back to a corded mouse, I charge mine once a week in the stand overnight and never have an issue. Connection is 100% stable

Time to end this pathetic argument!

Wires suck!

WELL FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, when did Logitech come out with these cool Gx gaming mice? Still, 2.4ghz sucks for range compared to bluetooth, I've had both. Not that you really need range for using a PC...

I think they have been out for about a month now. I would just get wired because of lag time between the mouse and the computer, and if you move the mouse out of the transmitter range for a second, it could mean a perfectly good head shot down the drain. I was happy with my mx518, until the wired laser one came out.
