Thanks guys. I wasn't happy with how I ended the 4/4 but the compliments make me feel better about it. :) Ill try to get the 6/8 one up tonight probably around midnight like last night.

Cool beans, I really want to dive into this one.

Guitar guys, what are your thoughts on choice of axes? I was thinking of going with a les paul on this track and maybe a fuzz but I definitely want to use a tele on the 6/8 one.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. The 6/8 is more of a twangy beat (maybe an Elvis Mystery Train rhythm to go with it :) ). I've got a Yardbox I'm going to use on my LP for the 4/4. I have a couple of ideas for some blues riffs that should work.

Great minds.. :p

How do you like that YB btw? I remember you were talking about that a few years ago in a thread but I never got around to trying it out. Sounds like a cool tonebender clone. I've got like.. 6 fuzzes (I'm out of control ) but I'm thinking of maybe breaking out the germanium octave down/up for this track

By the way I neglected to mention this but I can get a lot of different tones out of my bass with the effects pedal I use. I got a moodier one (think Riders on the Storm), funky, distorted... So if you guys got some ideas of what kind of ones you want let me know. For the 4/4 I used one of the basic tones.

It's a near perfect clone of a Solasound Tonebender. It's my main pedal. What's funny about custom made pedals though is it's got 4 knobs, and two of them don't do anything while the other two are super sensitive. I had to mark the EXACT spots for the gain and volume to get the right sound. 1/4" off screws up everything.

I got a rough mix done for the 4/4 one, it's about half the song before I got really bored with the repetition :p

Just finishing up the solo tomorrow and then I will post it and someone can do the second half of the rhythm so everyone gets in

Feedback will be helpful, too heavy ? What do you guys think?

I like what I am hearing that was some good guitar play Drew ;)

BTW for the contributors here who are not working on the current project and those who are into different genres, I am heading an Electronic track project the tendency is Trance / House-Trance for me.
I can handle it all on my own TBH, but it wouldn't be an AT project otherwise. I am already in the brainstorming phase and have at least one member who is in the phase of preparing some vocal samples for me to mix, I have some synth samples that I made and will be uploading soon in addition to what I already uploaded there (under Keys / DarkThinker), but it isn't much ATM as I haven't uploaded all the good stuff that I am working on yet. But feel free to look at what is there for now.

I am mainly looking for people with good Keyboard skills and people with Drum skills mainly and sound equalization too for the finished product and mixing, violin and flute players are welcome too. If you don't play any instruments but you have an idea for a track or if you know a female member that is a vocalist that would be great too :)

DT, my own guitar projects are very ambient/textural sounding, I work with high gain and/or different fuzz textures through different analog delays. If you want anything like that for your project let me know

thanks for the comments

Are we married to a Blues number at this point? I've got some time over the next few days to contribute.

I can work with what has been upped so far, and something along the lines of Platypus's number is a fair start, but would it be a waste of time to throw up some other ideas?

The LP sounds good btw, love that tone :) The drums are pretty up tempo, so a heavy sound works well.

No, in fact I'd love to venture away from the blues but it was a good starting point for everyone to cut their teeth on. By all means lets push on :)

If you want to continue where I left off rbV5 that would be cool, I say we at least see this one through to the end and then get started on something else.

thanks: re the tone :)

Cool, you'll be upping your seperate guitar track or another take? I'll work with what you guys have so far, to get our feet wet.

I can't work on a just single project at a time, so I'm playing with another idea or two I had using the drum track(s) also.

That'd be great, honestly I had envisioned everyone doing their own thing and us choosing our favorite. I'll up the guitar track tonight when I get home but by all means come up with something too :)

Oh I understand, I am just pointing it out to those who DON'T know that I have a project too that requires their skills. Don't take it on yourself Drew, it's not your fault you don't have what it takes to TRANCE IT UP! :p

any ideas for what we want to do next?

I have to say I am impressed how good the combined track came out to be and I am not even a fan of this genre. Keep it ^

Let me know when you guys are ready to track some more stuff. I'm open to any genre just about.

Also, I'll submit this to the group. If you're just looking for a quick and dirty way to do a generic drum track via sequencer/synth (just for something to play along with).

I found this freeware on line.
HammerHead

It might help you guitar-type to just get something basic and then later me or Crackajax can do our thing. ;)

JR, as soon as possible start cranking more stuff out, any genre would be good.

Let's do something a bit more varied than the blues

Yes, I've lost inspiration when I heard the bass+drum track. Not that it wasn't good, I'm just tired of hearing the same song over and over again. A medley of different genres would be cool and allow all genres of wankers to wank on it.

I'm such a loser-- I've had like 0 time to record anything (depsite having 3 different ideas in my head), then I get some time last night and Cakewalk does an automatic update and hoses my setup :|

I'll try to get something recorded by the weekend.

What are we going to do next? We could do a cover tune (if we did something like Zeppelin's Rain Song, we could probably get nearly every instrument involved :) The arrangement might be complicated though).
