I think we should just start doing new stuff and if people want to contribute they can. I have no idea why so many people signed up and bailed though.. lol.

I agree. I've got a couple more in the oven as we speak hehe.

I'm about ready to share some of my material I've been working on. I had some piss poor mixes that I've redone and I've got a few new tunes worked out. This is the time of year I get ramped up with my music :)

Sorry guys Ive been kind of flaking on you. Between work, Secret Santa, and a somewhat decent social life, I just havent taken the time to sit down and record. I'm looking to get a Fender Jazz Bass for Xmas so maybe after things wind down I'll be back to recording. :)

Hopefully this is a long term project :)

It can definately be tough to find time when you have a life;) (Oh, and I'd love to get a decent Bass myself)

I slowed down the tempo on JR's track2 drum track and added some clean guitars.

This is kind of a simple long Blues Jam in D featuring JoLLyRoGer on the Drums and me on the guitars.

I like that quite a bit. I love the heavy sound and its just screaming for a dual lead over that last riff;) serious potential with this one I think.

yeah the last riff was kind of the brain behind that, i wrote the intro stuff just to transition to that. I think a harmonized lead would be AWESOME in that part, I did the panning already for rhythm/lead. I want to clean it up a bit and maybe put a more cohesive song around it but that was what I came up with in one take :p

I'm playing around with it now. I've got a little time today, I'll see what I can come up with. Maybe an acoustic break with a key change in the middle followed by that riff again, or something to give it an epic Heavy Rock feel. I dunno, but I do like it alot. :)

cool, I'd love to hear your ideas on it. I was messing around with dissonant overtones in the E/A strings the other day and came up with that one, it just sounded really interesting. I got a newish amp that just drips tone for that kinda thing so it's really be inspiring me to take my tone in a different direction lately.

LOL, that would be cool. I've got a video cam, so I could do my parts if they make it to the final cut.

I do look a little like the dude in the santa hat:shocked:

/jk :)

Hey Platypus, I've got a tune worked out that runs a little over 4.5 minutes using your latest Masterpiece. It needs a little more work before I send it this way (even then it will be a pretty rough) Prolly tommorrow or the next day:)

rick you still out there? :)

Yea, I've gotten tied up into some holiday stuff that has kept me busy...but fret not  I'll have some time soon. I've nearly got something "nearly" ready with your jam2 number (which I am digging)

I share your love of knopfler as well. Nice job!

I was finally able to get a little time this morning. I had hoped to get something a little better worked out but I think this has kick-ass possibilities with some drums and some of the parts reworked a bit.

I walked all over some of your best stuff Plat , but i had trouble bring some of your forward with everything on a single track.

This is awesome Rick, I like the idea a lot!
Did you add a touch of delay or reverb to the sound?

I like the breakdown section the most w/ the harmony, I'm away until next week but I definitely want to keep running with this track. I think if maybe a drummer got into it and added some cool double bass parts to that breakdown section and/or some sort of ride that would sound pretty kickass.

Come on ATOT, get in the game :D

I used Cakewalks VC64 (Kjaerhus Golden Channel) on the final mix to get some room for everything. I also doubled each of my tracks and put a little chorus on the doubled track to thicken the sound a little (I record my tracks mono/ EQ/pan them and send them to a seperate stereo bus for mixing)

I could get a much better mix if all the tracks were seperate (and not looped) so I could EQ them first, the drums and Bass get lost pretty easy, and you lose a lot of the dynamics of your setup's awesome tone.

Drums would make a HUGE difference ;)
