So you're not giving me your private info? I just want a plain old SS# and some other personal information. If you give me the info and I can verify it, I will provide you with your date. If you want a date so bad, I can also provide a paypal address. It'll cost 100 bucks.

ROFL x 2. Oh well, I'm just going to assume it's 4 years from now, just to be on the safe side. Putting it in my gmail calendar now.

You can't make Hacp think. He lives off his parents, so he doesn't have any real world experience, and just sends email forwards all day. He's a brainwashed college republican who runs around shrieking about the FREE MARKET while mooching off others.
Do you have some indication he's in college? In all seriousness, based on the ignorance and attitude in his posts, it doesn't seem like it to me. I'd guess no older than a high school junior. He has that flip, know-it-all arrogance and that tendency to simply shut out any information that contradicts his opinions that I'd more expect to see in someone who's never ventured outside the bubble of parental support. That usually starts to evaporate in late HS and college as you begin to accept responsibility for yourself and start getting glimpses of how the world works.

Further proof that the government slows things down. You shouldn't need a license to drive a train loaded with nitrocubane or ammonium perchlorate. We should let the free market handle this. We'll put untrained baristas at the wheel and save thousands!

He mentioned in his superstar breakout post in P&N that he was a college student on minimum wage when he said we should feed poor people vegetable oil instead of food stamps because all people need to live is calories.

Or maybe they don't have a certification because they know they won't get a job because a union guy already has it. Its a 1 year certification. Not a huge barrier of entry. If the guy's job was open to the free market, it would have already been taken for a lower salary by someone willing to work harder and cheaper.

as if I didnt already... now I know you have no clue what your talking about.

there ARENT people lined up to take jobs away from the union people in the railroad... there is a national shortage of certified conductors and engineers.

Just so were clear... you arent happy because you want to pay less taxes (do you even pay taxes? do you own a house? Do you even have a job?) because you want to keep more of your hard earned money, but somehow you expect other people to work for a discount and take less of their hard earned money because they work for the government?

you are the biggest form of hypocrit of all that i know.

You think government makes things? It takes money from people unwillingly and then spends it. If you're happy to give government your money, they accept cash, credit, check, and gold.

And it's been downhill from there.

Tradesmen like welders and electricians only take classes for about a month each year for 4 years and that's how they get to be journeymen. Why isn't the market totally flooded with electricians? Why do they still get paid obscene amounts of money? Is this some kind of union conspiracy as well? You don't even need a high school diploma for most electrician programs.

WUT?
So the fact that the government isnt a manufacturer is relevent to this discussion how? THATS RIGHT... It isnt.

The government provides services common to all citizens. And thats right... you benefit from these services as well... so you should be taxed for them.

Transportation...
Police, Military, Courts...
Safety Regulation...
Parks, Hunting, Fishing, and Wildlife...

if anything "for profit" companies have proven they cant be trusted, cutting safety for more profit...making unions + government regulation/enforcement all the more necessary.

Perhaps it has to do with the electrician's unions?

You guys are killing me. That's absolutely hilarious.

I'd never seen his posting and had guessed he was in highschool as well. I remember what I was like back then. I shudder to remember our debate class talking about all the lazy people on welfare and how they never worked etc etc. It's so black and white when you haven't actually dealt directly with the issues.

Maybe because being an electrician is difficult work that requires a lot of patience and being good at working with details. Its also a job where if you screw up someone is scraping your smoking corpse off the wall. The unions make sure that if you want to be a certified and bonded electrician, you are competent at the job. Also, you can't get a trained electrician from a starbucks employee in a month. You can get a dead one though.

Most electricians are non-union.

You could get a first year apprentice. They'll be fine as long as they know how to read and match numbers. When dicking around with 4kv, your gloves must be at least 4kv. It's simple, but you'll die if you mess it up.

I think that actually explains a lot. He's making minimum wage so he's got middle class envy. 😀 Of course I imagine he thinks after graduation he'll skip middle class right over and get a job offer that will get him into the elite top 5% which is why he defends them so much. Quite hilarious actually.

Oh well, just 4 more years... 🙂

Hmm a third of electricians are unionized. I bet those are the ones making the most money. The non-unioned guys are probably making a fair wage while the unioned guys are on halfway done with their summer home mortgage payments.

Don't worry I won't be top5% but I'll be living comfortably. I have a nice fat manual labor type union job lined up doing pretty much what I do now for minimum wage. All it takes is knowing someone and paying respects to the managers. The ones I am familiar with like apple computers.
