Hmmm, I thought the picture on the box about how to obtain crossfire was fairly clear.
Just look at that picture again and it will show you the 3 components you need.

X1800XT at its current price range is your best bet unless you have to have a single card solution. The 256MB version performs just about the same as the 512MB version minus a few frames in games that like the 512MB of ram which there are not many of them.

I doubt its going to cost 100 bucks more however, the msrp is $300...once these things are on the market, do you really think they'll go for msrp? I'm guessing you'll be able to pick one of these up for $250ish in the next month, maybe less.

I guess another factor is I have a 19in lcd monitor and the max res it will do on DVI is 1280x1084, do I even need a card this good? Would I be just as well off buying an 1800gto? They got one on newegg AR for about $170.

He is right the MSRP currently stands at 399$ on the 1900 gt. Right now Best Buy has some deal with ATI and are the only retailers with them from what I see.

However, with the 1900 gt ATI stopped makeing the 1800xt chipsets- hopefully in the next few weeks we will see some nice deals on the 1800xt.

FYI as it stands now tho the 1900 gt is well below the 1800xt and 7900gt in benchmarks. Although I am a bit skeptical at this point and wondering if there may be a driver optimization issue with catalyst.

Do you guys see these falling much more in price over the next month or so? Or have these bottomed out for the time being?

Well with the newegg special/rebate it was around 241. I think it will drop more over time - though not sure if a month is enough time. The 7900gt are alsos starting to drop. You can get them for 285 or so.
