Just ebay :D

Its almost double the performance of the card you just bought.
Bit of an exaggeration I'd say... more like 50% performance bump--the IQ features are the other big attraction.

I'm in the same boat...... should I replace my GTX with this baby ? thing is the GTX is quite good for the settings I play at (no AA usually), and I'm not sure if this card can really make 4xAA playable for me (e.g. >50 fps) at 1920x1200, even though it will surely be faster than my GTX (which cost me $500 a few months ago)

Great deal! Done. Glad i waited on Neweggs promo code over the weekend to decide. MSI's X1800XT is also easy to flash to higher PE speeds (700/1600) while still using the stock cooler. http://www.pcstats.com/ArtVNL.cfm?articleid=1919&page=4

245$ shipped after promo and rebate using FedEx.

Much faster than a Geforce 7900GT that costs 40$ more. Equal to a Geforce 7800GTX that costs a lot more.

The only thing i can imagine is you want and can afford a X1900XT for another 130$ extra using this Newegg promo.

Wait, 7900GT is faster/more powerful than 7800GTX, so your statements are conflicting.

If this X1800XT is faster than 7900gt, the it's faster than 7800GTX.

Everyone needs to stop saying X1800XT 512mb is faster than the 7900GT and vice versa. It matters on which tests you actually use, because each card is better in certain games. Also if you SLI or Crossfire there may also be much different results.
I have to say overall I prefer the X800XT 512mb over the 7900GT due to the price/performance ratio.
Both can be great overclockers, but the 7900GT is an overclocker beast assuming you don't mess up the vmod.

In response to my comparison statements, at the moment i am sort of "charted out" in terms of viewing around 40 charts today. I'm tired. heehe.

Let me just say that i understand that the Nvidia Geforce 7900GTX and the Radeon X1900XT lead the pack. Next in line are the previous generation cards that include the former champions the Radeon X1800XT and the Nvidia 7800GTX.

Both the 7900gtx and the 7800gtx offer a cheaper version called 7900gt and 7800gt respectively. Exactly where the MSI X1800XT ranks with these "gt" cards i'll admit i could stand to review the numbers again. heehe. I'm sure i'll learn the truth sooner or later. No intention here to mislead anyone.

What i find so amazing is how the X1800XT for 245$ shipped FedEx thrashes the performance of video cards like the new 'X1800XT GTO' which i almost bought a week ago for around 200$ on sale/rebate, before i remembered to check the AnandTECH deal forum and began seeing some better offers. The Newegg 50$ off got my attention bigtime. Then when MSI's rebate popped up it was just the incentive i needed to buy.

Will newegg offer a 50$ off promo on their line up of 20" LCD monitors? Maybe we should ask.

Here is an Anandtech forum debate about nvidia 7900gt vs radeon x1800xt http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=31&threadid=1852386&enterthread=y

Apparently discussions can occasionally get heated between "fanboys" of nvidia and ati. heehe. It's not my intention to expand that debate here on a deal forum. But it does help to read this stuff if you are still deciding what to buy. I'm happy saving an extra 50 bucks. Nvidia has a nice driver support, but ATI has some good points too. I'll reserve that part of the comment for the appropriate forum.

Well, I couldn't hold back, I'm in for one!

We'll see how my OCd X1800XT 512MB compares to some of the volt modded 7900 GTs w/256MB.

For 245$ shipped (fedex) you can't go wrong, even if a 300$ 7900GT(256mem) is cranked faster. The X1800XT easily flashes to 700/1600 by the way. And most reviewers say ATI here in this case looks a sweeter visually. At super quality game settings.

I'm a nvidia fan saying this too. My first ATI card.

You can probably OC your card to 700/800 (700/1600), but there is some bios that flashes X1800XT to PE status. Bascially all it does is change the clocks to 700/800 (700/1600). Read carefully on it though as you need 6 of the power "chips," not 5. I believe the X1800XT 512MB at newegg all have 6 of those chips.

DEAD

Edit: @^#*#! Was checking to see if my other components were compatible with this, they were but checking some sites for 10 minutes made the deal from live to dead for me. I hope this offer comes around again

Heh, why do you guys ask if the deal is dead?
Just try it out for yourself. :)
You will realize $50 does not get deducted from your total.

Debating selling my XFX 7900GT for this, 7900 is a great card but i'm an ATI fanboy (at least i'm honest) and i don't plan on OC'ing my 7900gt to unlock it's full potentional.

Can anyone confirm that the promo code is dead, cause if it is what i think it is then it's not working for me?

If anyone want this for $262AR, PM me and we'll work this out.
The code is dead, but a CSR will give me $25 off the order, so $317 - $25 - $30(Rebate).

i believe the coupon is dead, but the rebate is not. It's still a wonderful price, just no 50 dollars off.

At this point I'd prolly go for the 256MB version for cheaper tho.
