In response to my comparison statements, at the moment i am sort of "charted out" in terms of viewing around 40 charts today. I'm tired. heehe.
Let me just say that i understand that the Nvidia Geforce 7900GTX and the Radeon X1900XT lead the pack. Next in line are the previous generation cards that include the former champions the Radeon X1800XT and the Nvidia 7800GTX.
Both the 7900gtx and the 7800gtx offer a cheaper version called 7900gt and 7800gt respectively. Exactly where the MSI X1800XT ranks with these "gt" cards i'll admit i could stand to review the numbers again. heehe. I'm sure i'll learn the truth sooner or later. No intention here to mislead anyone.
What i find so amazing is how the X1800XT for 245$ shipped FedEx thrashes the performance of video cards like the new 'X1800XT GTO' which i almost bought a week ago for around 200$ on sale/rebate, before i remembered to check the AnandTECH deal forum and began seeing some better offers. The Newegg 50$ off got my attention bigtime. Then when MSI's rebate popped up it was just the incentive i needed to buy.
Will newegg offer a 50$ off promo on their line up of 20" LCD monitors? Maybe we should ask.
Here is an Anandtech forum debate about nvidia 7900gt vs radeon x1800xt

Apparently discussions can occasionally get heated between "fanboys" of nvidia and ati. heehe. It's not my intention to expand that debate here on a deal forum. But it does help to read this stuff if you are still deciding what to buy. I'm happy saving an extra 50 bucks. Nvidia has a nice driver support, but ATI has some good points too. I'll reserve that part of the comment for the appropriate forum.
