Err...question, WTF is Sony doing? They can't even hold on to a company that been pretty much exclusive to them for ages?

While money wise, I understand it the switch, loyalty wise I give a big double middle finger to SE.
What? I don't get this comment. If the game is coming out on the PS3 and the X360--why would this piss you off so much?
If the game is going to be on multiple systems, the chances of its success are increased. Wouldn't this be something you would want as a fan of the series?![]()
I'm assuming he's more a fan of Sony than Square, hence the anger.
Brand Loyalty. Not quite fanboyish, but pissed off that SE kicked Sony in the balls with one of the biggest PS3 games that was announced. FFXI I can understand, its an MMO, and not overly big. But FFXIII was THE game for PS3, and now, its like there's a void.
Haha, sorry, that's just ridiculously silly thinking. Are you going to sign the petition saying you'll never buy another Square-Enix game again?
Holy crap though. This is a huge day for the 360. And here I was thinking other than Gears 2 I wasn't interested in the 360 anymore. The hard drive installs alone is enough to win me back, no more jet engine DVD drives. If only they would have announced they were dropping the HDD protection so you could install your own (granted I don't see why they would since now you have even more reason to buy the larger drive). Definitely like the Netflix thing as well.
No.. Those are stupid.. I'm just pissed. I'm not going to go picket in front of SE HQ.

Well, I guess we can just buy it for the PS3.

Okay , Square enix yearly was down by a considerable margin :! Share holder wanted answer... square enix didn't at all well in the us market so then they had to face the fact they need to support 360 in US market.

Reason why they went sucked up to Microsoft.

It apparently requires both a Netflix subscription and XBL Gold, or so the 'stiq is claiming. Seems like Microsoft is trying to make that Gold subscription worth the money. I'm a little surprised that they didn't do any Zune integration.
That'd be interesting. I have to wonder, though, exactly how many people would be put off by this....meaning, I'd say that most everyone who was wanting this or who will use this probably already has a Gold sub.

Wonder how much Microsoft paid Netflix to be exclusive. I was really hoping the PS3 would get that feature also.
I have both systems, but I was looking forward to using my Blu-Ray remote with Netflix streaming on the PS3. Oh well.

when will the fall update be rolled out to users? did they mention any specific dates ?
nothing specific yet. Fall runs through mid-September to early December though.
I can't imagine there is anybody here who didn't know that![]()
When the last fall update didn't come out until December, there was a lot of B&Ming along the lines of "December, but that's winter!"

The hard drive install thing was a surprise to me.
It strikes me as bizarre that they're developing FF13 on PC, porting it to the PS3, and then porting it to the 360. Theoretically, going from the PC to the 360 should be the easy part. Also, the word that Versus is still a PS3 exclusive was pretty weird.
I'll be curious to see how the two ports come out - I prefer installs over disc switching.

Get a Harmony remote. Got a refurb from Amazon for ~$30. Controls TV, 360, speakers, etc. It is glorious.

They are developing on the PC ? Where ...
They are developing on PS3 dev kit :!
Final Fantasy XIII is currently being developed using Square Enix's "Crystal Tools" technology with the PC as base platform. "As we have already announced, we will complete the PS3 version in Japan," explained Hashimoto. "After that, we will start the localization for US and Europe." Once localization is underway, Square will begin development of the Xbox 360 version, with the aim of releasing it in America (with no meaningful content changes) alongside the localized PlayStation 3 version. "Because of languages and other conditions, it may not release in US and Europe simultaneously," noted Hashimoto.

Had one, but they don't support my TV. I tried to "train" it by inputting the contents of the Source menu, but it never even came close to picking the right source. I might pick one up when I get a new TV though.

Did you email support? Harmony has good customer service/support.

No, but I don't know what their support people could do that their software didn't already try to do.

Harmony customer support has been known to make a custom code and send to you so you can upload into your remote. It really would be worth giving them a call.
