Dear Sirs:
It is with somewhat of a heavy heart that I am submitting my written notice of resignation from Company X effective immediately.
The past few weeks have been a difficult time for me as I deliberated the direction of my career and life and whether or not Company X served that purpose. After much soul-searching and deliberation I decided that it currently does not offer me what I need in life. I'm taking some time off in my life to travel and decide my future, and I don't feel that I can currently balance Company X with those goals. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have, and I apologize for any inconvenience this causes. I realize that there is typically a two to four week notice given, but in my own best interests and the interests of the Park I respectfully ask that this be waived.
I will be happy to help train or help my replacement when I get back from Mexico -- or do anything else you feel will help make the transition smoother. Mike X and/or Lynn can take care of removing my IT Administrative Privileges, and I will surrender my keys and any other Park Property to you today.
Thanks so much Mike Y. My experience at Comapny X has been rewarding and productive for the most part, and I wish only the best for you -- and for the company.
How's that sound?
