Any update on availability on these chips? I can only seem to find them at Monarch, where they are either OOS or jacked up in price.

Did you get a retail or Oem processor?

I have a X2 4400 in my DFI rig and I really like the multi tasking you can do with it.
My 3800+ is Retail.. ADA3800DAA5BV CDBHE 0531TPEW

There don't seem to be many X2 OEM's out there..

Tentative update..

This chip seems to have a definite wall.. Rock solid at 2850 1.4 v ( Screenie later )

Tried to go to 2.9 but would not prime for more than an hour with volts at 1.55..

Taking my volts to 1.6 causes reboot, so I guess my PSU won't handle that...

Wow, I still have a retail 146 unopened. Maybe I should sell it too. :D

There's a CABNE on there for $275.

FYI Guys:

We've got a pretty solid ETA now on 144's. I'm not 100% sure yet, but there is a *very* good chance they are shipping to us this week, so we'd re-ship either Friday or early next week.

We have no 146's availble right now, but 8 or 9 144's that are not yet spoken for. I'm not sure what core they are going to be, but the very helpful rep at one of our new supplier is going to try and cherry pick the best ones he can for us (He's a fellow enthusiast, so he knows what we're all after ;)) It's really going to depend on what they have, but we'll do our best!

Can't really go by that. Like you said, it's the wholesale price for a 1000 pieces. After factoring in shipping, fees, markup, and supply/demand it's going to shake out for a lot more by the time it gets to us.

Well, that's not good news for 146 pre-orders. So tempted to order a 144 now though. :)

Making $30 on a cpu is a fair but not extortionate markup. Good to see them coming down the pipe again. Fingers crossed for a good batch.

BTW does anyone know what the CABNE/CABYE/CABGE actually refers to. Are we likely to see these codes again?

Slight correction: Socket 940 enforced registered RAM, not ECC RAM.

All AMD64 CPUs socket 754, 939 or 940 support ECC and non-ECC RAM. Most 754 and 939 mainboards do not allow you to make use of the ECC, though.

Man i see some people selling there opteron for $300+ on ebay.

I see some guy selling his Cabye for 499. LOL. Oh well its good that amd's cpu price are dropping.. can't wait for them to drop even more. I wonder if the monarch still have the cabye and not the cabge.

sure... I underand its supply / demand (may be AMD CAP to dislike and the way we are spoiled to pay lower than AMD asking price on CPUs for some time. eg. 3200+)

Anybody knows apart from Cabne what other stepping+date code is good for overclocking? I know Cabge had been a disappointment (for overclockers ofcourse) in terms of reaching 3.0ghz for a resonable vcore. I was hearing that certain Cabye week and batch is good for overclocking.

I have a 146 CABYE 0536 GPMW, which doesnt seem like a good stepping from what I see in other forums. I havent been able to test mine cause my Ultra-D mobo has not arrived yet.

Guys please shed some light in this aspect.
