monarch has shipped my opty, just got a tracking email from them.

I also just got my UPS tracking number from eWiz for my 146 Not too bad, I ordered it at noon today and ended up $13 cheaper than Monarch, HA! Now hoping the stepping will be A-OK...

They're all probably coming out of the same warehouse anyway........

One interesting idea. Ive already had 4 people on ebay say they would pay me $250 for an OEM BN chip. /me drools

ditto on recieving tracking # from monarch. I just called today and they said they MIGHT get a shipment in tomorrow .... do they even know whats going on in their warehouse?!

edit: thinking about this I was one the phone at 3pm TODAY with monarch and they said they had NONE. wierd eh? so that means at about the same time my cpu was going to fedex the guy i was talking to was telling me i was SOL for a couple days.

Monarch jerked me around when buying my X2. It was only when I requested that they cancel my order that they decided to ship it.

I was very fair with Monarch. I ordered on noon 10-17 and waited until 10-19 (2 business days) until I contacted them. It really irritates me that the woman in CS said "yes sir, packed and will ship tonite". I know it's competitive, but do they need to lie to maintain business ops. As of right now, even though I cancelled earlier today, they have $228 of my money. They told me it would take 5-7 days for credit back to my bank. CS what????? Nuff said about them....

eWiz was simply great, ordered at noon, I contacted them at 4 pm to make sure they were in stock, and received an e-mail stating, "yes, will be shipped out shortly". Half an hour after that I get a UPS tracking number...I am actually pretty happy the way it worked out. I'll get the chip sooner at a better price

Ah dammit, I don't know if I should pull the trigger on that 146 OEM.

Seems like the people getting CABNE are the ones that got it from Vandi and those that got in on the retail before it got backordered.

It is true. Its been mentioned by "venedi" or whatever his name is, that sells opterons over at xtreme. Prices are going to drop. Of course itll probably be around end of november before you start seeing any of the price drops.

I got my 146 from Monarach this morning. CABYE. The green crap that holds the processor and Heatsink Fan in place was shredded on one side. The processor barely moved around, so I doubt there's any damage, but I hate it when that happens. There's green dust everywhere! :|

From what I understand, they are mostly all CABYEs now. Ewiz is confirmed to be CABYE's as well.

mine from monarch came in just now, CABYE too.
i just finished mounting the HSF and cpu on the mobo, didnt even have time to power it up. guess i'll wait till after classes/work.

i got a 148 from ewiz that was a CABYE 0528gpmw
and a 146 from ewiz that was a CABYE 0536gpmw

the 146 i sold.
the 148 i kept. these aren't too bad. the 148 i got to 3.0 ghz 32M superpi stable and 2.88 ghz prime stable with just 1.55 volts. sweet chip indeed. it's a shame this chip isn't playing nicely now and won't boot up in my computer.

either way the CABYE steppings are decent. you're pretty much guaranteed 2.7 and anything above that is luck.

How was the memory controller on your 146? Was it able to run 1:1 at high FSB? I'm hoping to get at least 270x10 without the use of a divider. I know my memory can do it, but I've heard that these mem controllers may not be up to the task. I'll be using Mushkin PC4400 TCCD on BP 808.
