About to start. Going to either a). buy cheap Ninja to learn on and resell it, or b). use friend's 75hp sport-touring and then buy a used gixxer 600.

Old man here, 33, had a couple crotch rockets and moved on to cruisers before marriage/kid pretty much ended my riding days. Oh and I live in DFW where it blows ass to ride anyway.

Be safe. All those idiots on the road that nearly crash into you / pull right out in front of you / etc in a car will be even more irritating and potentially deadly when you're on a bike.

That said, have fun. Motorcycles are one of the purest forms of fun left in this decaying world.

SV650 haver checking in. This isn't my first bike but I've had it for over 2 years now and it still makes me smile when I ride it...12,000 miles on it and counting.

Buell Blast. Good around town bike. No need to go 200mph here.

Also, both Ninjas and Blasts can usually be sold for what you payed for them (used).

What color? Man, I love that orange color they use on the Speed Triple...I think it was 2008 that they introduced that color. I could see that being my next bike if I can find a nice low mileage one once I get a fricken' job.

I have a low mount GP pipe on the way. Time to remove the trashcans on the back ;)

I dig the high mount trashcans myself. I like the bar end mirrors too...I have CRG Lanesplitters on my bike.

I know why dogs like to hang their head out the window.

THIS. Cleary for the win.
Like the bumper sticker says "If I have to explain, you just wouldnt understand" .

I ride a customized 2003 Fatboy and a 2010 Electra Glide Classic.

One of the best posters I have ever seen (Dated ala Hopper reference) that validated this "dangerous" mode of transport.

Elvis Rode.
So did Dwight Eisenhower, Steve McQueen and Chalres Lindburgh.
Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper still ride.
So do Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crow and John Travolta.
Micky Rouke and some guy named Mitch with a juiced up, chromed out, custome painted 1972 V-twin Shovel Head ride.
And so do you.
Here's to those who rode, those who ride and to those who will ride.

Harley XL1200R here. These things are as much fun as you can have with your clothes on.

i saw a lotus elise pass me on the freeway last friday. i started jumping on my throttle (crappy dodge truck) to get him to floor it, but he wouldnt. eventually he did, and passed pretty much everything in front of us until he was out of sight. pretty cool.

i also have been riding since i was a wee lad, everything from dirt bikes to crotch rockets to cruisers. i currently still own my original bike, a 79 honda cb750 modified a bunch. it still resembles the original, but has many changes to its stance and appearance. its been parked since my twins were a year old (about 12 yrs now) and i sold off all my other toys as well. it will be on the road again tho, when the kids get grown up. i satisfy my riding needs by borrowing either my stepdads ultra classic or triumph 650 bonny, or my dads old stroker chopper.
