First, I want to go on record that anything I receive via mail that is not labeled with who it is from ends up in the trash. If I was a billionaire I doubt I would insist on my help opening plain white envelopes either...or even anything sent bulk with "TIME SENSITIVE MATERIAL"...
I am tired of opening mail each day for new roofs, car warranty, termite/pest control. Apparently for my protection they send these mailings in a plain white envelope so no one can 'identity theft' me. Yet in these plain white envelopes it only discusses a change in rate and my account number is not mentioned inside...nor my name (probably....I never saw it, but I have seen others). However, my statement comes predominately labeled as the company...and all my account info is inside, even checks sometimes...😕
So I asked, why send my statement with my balance and other personal info with your name on it when just a change of terms that lists only a new rate comes plain.
My balance is only $1400...I have higher rate items I am paying more on.
[canned response]Sorry, Mr. Å; we have no idea how our envelopes are designed except it's for bulk mail purposes.[/canned response]
You realize I get my statements via bulk mail from you, right?
[canned response]Sorry, Mr. Å; we have no idea how our envelopes are designed except it's for bulk mail purposes.[/canned response]
Can I talk to someone that knows about the envelopes.
[canned response]Sorry, Mr. Å; no one here knows about our envelope design.[/canned response]
what? no one knows why you send statements out labeled and account changes plain white?
[canned response]Sorry, Mr. Å; we have no idea how our envelopes are designed except it's for bulk mail purposes.[/canned response]
Can I talk to your boss or someone that knows?

...get transferred and told about changing economy....etc.
I kept getting told they cannot close my account other than leaving it at 14.99%...I finally get my old rate and a closed account. I got a lot of lip service up to that about how in today's economy having my $xxxxx balance available could be important. I explain if I need $xxxxx I will pull it out without a credit card and how banks have to protect themselves from people that cannot pay (none of which affects me as I have never paid on this card less than double the minimum and nearly a month in advance with sometimes two payments). They are at no risk from me.
cliffs...if you have a barclays/juniper card close it as more than likely you will be fucked if you don't open plain white envelopes. However if you disagree, I was told a simple rate change of 8.99% to 14.99% would be less than $30 a year on a $6000 balance that is far more than mine....I didn't do the math, either way I am paying nearly double a year.
