Most overhyped bands?

Nirvana overhyped? Only a moron would think they're the greatest band ever (personally I think they're great), but they did destroy ****** hair/glam metal (unfortunately glam is coming back) and brought the spotlight to alternative bands. How many bands should thank them for that? Nirvana was definitely an important band.

guess that shows differences of opinions. i consider radiohead to be the greatest band currently and one of the top bands in modern music. i also consider myself a 'musicphile' who has seen more live shows than the average person.

arrogance? check

i go to a shitton of shows (possibly more than you), but does that give me perspective to name the "best" or "most important" band? nah... because there's no "greatest" band.

Oh come on...Ok..so granted I am kinda obsessed with Radiohead..hence my name KarmaPolice but they arnt that over hyped. I wouldnt even say they are over hyped at all..I would say the only thing that some people might isay s that they are overly dramatic and artistic at times. That being said you cannot deny that they are good..I am not saying that this really makes them the best but their albums are ranked in the top albums all of time on a regular basis.

U2 on the other hand...Yeah they are overhyped lol.
 
and I also dont think Dave Matthews is overhyped. They are what they say are...the put on a rocking show for what their style permits.
 
hey, I like Radiohead 🙁.

I think The Fray is overhyped. I'm sick of their style/songs. They're overplayed to the max.
 
I liked some of the Fray's songs at first but then someone sent me the album and god. All their songs sound exactly the same. At the end of it I wanted to punch the singer and his whiny voice right in the face.

Radiohead peaked at The Bends and then began their self-indulgent downfall. OK Computer had some OK (haha) tracks, but it was largely pretentious and annoying.

the editors/magazines/websites that put Radiohead albums on their "best" lists also feature fergie on their covers, name Jack White one of the best guitarists of all time, and/or believe that The Cure is one of the most influential bands of all time. in other words, i don't trust a thing that they say.

LOL.. omg I am seriously LOLing right now... I honestly couldn't take the rest of your post seriously after you said Radiohead peaked at The Bends. I don't recall Time Magazine having Fergie on their cover or naming Jack White one of the best guitarists of all time, yet they include OK Computer and Kid A in their list of best albums of all time?
 
Although its true that Coldplay is overhyped and overplayed, some select songs are pretty good and if you play guitar, its just another trick in the bag to catch a girl.... just maybe...or be the gay friend 😛
