I dont see why we dont have low-cost P4-M motherboards for the desktop. I dont see why they cost so much. A-Open sells one that with integrated video runs at abot 37 watts for a total system.

LCD panels that can reproduce lower resolutions without blurriness.

I've been holding out with my 19" crt for too long because I like the bigness of a 1024x768 desktop.

Are your eyes that bad? That must suck.

Indeed. That or a reasonably sized optical/removable media as well. I mean....By the time these discs are going to be <=1 dollar apiece, the capacity of the media is going to be quite useless. In one Windows reinstallation, I could have up to 80 GB of stuff to backup. I want to be able to only use 1-3 discs. Not upwards of 6-10.

Wireless everything including power (ok I know that's near impossible but I'm sure there are ways to do this)

Also I think Tablet PCs are going to make a huge dent in the industry. I'm getting a Thinkpad X41 in a week.

Built in power hookups in cases. So you get a PSU, plug in one cable to the case. There are then Molex cables the EXACT LENGTH you need next to hard drive cages, 5.25 bays, 3.5 bays, video card placment etc. with somewhat longer cables for P4 connectors due to the variation of where they are located on the motherboard. Much easier and cleaner routing of cables this way, so the only thing you have to worry about in terms of neat cabling is IDE/Floppy/SATA connectors.

Next I build a full computer, this is exactly what I'm doing. I should be able to plug in the mobo power cable, and ONE molex cable that will be connected/daisy-chained to everything else. Kinda like modular power supplies, but built into the case.

Definitely. I'm not sure why they haven't caught on faster.

I'd also like a small tablet PC. Something bigger than a PDA, but smaller than a regular laptop. Maybe like a 5x7 screen? Perfect for throwing in a small briefcase or shoulder bag.

1) A replacement for hd, floppy, cdrom, dvd. This mechanical stuff is way way too slow.
2) Voice recogination with spell check. I should be able to be literate too.
3) a high speed way to punch someone in the face really really hard, with an optional stabbing attachment with the all important twist at the end.
