Maybe not the most depressing, but judging by the number of emo-kid suicides, it's gotta be in the top 3. :D

I rarely listen to purposefully depressing songs. However, I do have a couple on my playlist currently, and the latest one is "Tear Jerker" by Jamie Madrox.

Cats in the Cradle.....obviously.

For real, I'm surpised it took this long to get mentioned. That song is so depressing that I change the radio station whenever it comes on.

Wow... I actually don't find that song depressing at all. :-\

Do you have kids?

 Uhh, well, when you're a child, your relationship with your parents isn't under your control, whereas your relationship with your kids IS, and they are totally dependent upon YOU instead of the other way around. So in one case, you are not the one making the mistakes and having regrets, and in the other, you ARE.

I never found that song disturbing either until I had a child. Now it bothers me. You wake up one day and 5 years have passed in a flash while you were busy trying to get promoted and pay the mortgage, and you realize the kid was the only thing that ever really mattered, and that you should've spent more time, been more patient, or just generally done better.

That is, if you're at all thoughtful or introspective, which I realize from your dumb-ass reply probably does not apply to you. ;)

Considering that was a half-decent reply, I will ignore the personal attack.

The Pearl Jam remake of that one oldies song....

"Where oh where could my baby be
The lord took her away from me..."

Don't remember the exact name... but I try not to listen to it too much even though it is a good song.

EDIT: Oh and for that matter.... everything Portishead and Tori Amos made.
