Also, unfortunately Republicans are preventing Feinstein from being replaced even if she wanted to go. If you don’t like her in office then lobby Republicans to change their position.

Yes Mitch, Biden, Feinstein and Fetterman all need to go.
You forgot Donald "grifter" Trump, Kevin "ass-kisser" McCarthy, Jim "pedophile protector" Jordan, Rafael "Cancun" Cruz, Lisa Murkowski, Rand "I got suckerpunched" Paul, Marco Rubio, Rick Scott, Tommy "not from Alabama" Tuberville, J.D. Vance, Lauren "GED" Boebert, Marjorie Taylor "Idiot" Greene, Matt "like 'em young" Gaetz, Sarah "you know I lied because my mouth opened" Huckabee Sanders, Ron "bobblehead meatball" DeSantis, Greg "murderer" Abbott, and others that I forget at the moment.

Mitch's brain is literally melting in front of America but you've barely complained yet.

Pcgeek11 included Moscow Mitch only because it's the subject of the thread, and as a thinly veiled excuse to try to prove he is impartial. We all know pcgeek11 is just using this as another excuse to push a false narrative about anyone who is a Democrat.

GMAFB!
You actually believe what you just typed?

Yes, by keeping Diane Feinstein in office in her present state is abuse. They are using her as a puppet. She has no idea whats going on around her. There is plenty of video evidence, esp when her aid told her to just say Aye on a vote.

Republicans say they won’t allow her to be replaced on her committees. Are they wrong to say that?

Yes they are wrong, but two wrongs don't make it right. I assume what the R's are doing is withing the rules however even though I don't agree with it. Elder abuse trumps the Republicans being wrong in stopping the position getting filled.

What should I do?
March on DC in protest?
Start a National movement?
Move to Kentucky so I can vote against him?

Same goes for Fetterman and Feinstein and I haven't heard you say anything at all.

Absolutely not!

The job of elected officials is to govern the country, a vital part of which includes staffing the courts. If by making a change you are no longer able to staff the courts this is abandoning your duty to your constituents, to the country, and is a betrayal of your oath of office. If Republicans would support a replacement then I would fully support her retirement/whatever. The only thing Republicans need to do is the exact same thing that the Senate has done for almost all its history, and something that was entirely uncontroversial in the past. Instead they want to play games and so that forces the Democrats' hand.

Country first.

I agree that they are wrong blocking a replacement...
Doesn't change the fact that they are using her as a puppet.

You know as well as I do that she would vote for all those nominees regardless.

This is being done purely out of the hopes that she dies or has some other health issue so that she's not able to vote so that Republicans can block any further nominations. They aren't even hiding it.

I don't think anyone is hoping for her death.

No, I don't KNOW that she would vote any particular way. I do suspect that she would however. Doesn't change the fact that they are using her as a Puppet (elder abuse IMO) which is just as bad as what the Republicans are doing.

So to be clear you think the correct thing to do is not staff the judicial branch of government, which will negatively affect the lives of thousands or even millions of people? Because that is the obvious and inevitable consequence of what you're proposing.

Since when do you care about elder abuse?

If you care about elder abuse, why don't you start by removing all the Republicans who want to do away with SSI? Millions of older adults are heavily dependent on their SSI monthly payments to survive. So, the notion that the Republicans want to take that away from them should be high on your list of elder abuse. Right?

these people are only able to admit their cult GQP is doing something wrong, if they can make something up to make the Democrats worse about the same issue. In this case it is imaginary elder abuse. No matter what, Geek will always take the low road. We have seen this consistently from him from hundreds and hundreds of posts. It's time to understand some of these people will never change or become better people. It's simply not in their DNA.

It's a transparently silly argument anyway. We should not in fact allow Republicans to significantly degrade one of the core functions of the federal government because it would be mean to have a senator do the work she volunteered for.

This has major consequences for people's lives! It means more time spent in pre-trial detention in horrible jail facilities, more time spent waiting for justice for people with federal cases, etc. etc. Apparently all that human suffering is fine though because since Republicans won't put the country first the only alternative is letting Diane Feinstein voluntarily show up to work.

Correct. I don't know squat about you. The only thing I know about you are from your posts. The ones with the false narratives deriding Democratic politicians while not a peep about even more deplorable Republican politician behavior. So that's the only thing I can go by. Your very words on these forums.

No, I already stated that the Republicans are wrong and should allow the seat to be filled.

So you don't care what happens to Mrs Feinstein as long as the Democrats get their way.

Got it.

Let me make it very clear how I feel.
1. Feinstein is being abused and it should be stopped.
2. Feinstein should be retired as she cannot do her job.
3. The Republicans should allow the seat to be filled as allowed by the rules.

Pretty simple.

Name them.

However in reality republicans have clearly stated they won’t allow the seat to be filled so that’s not a choice.

Given this reality this are your choices
1) (in your words) elder abuse.
2) significant degradation of one of the core functions of government, resulting in harms to thousands, possibly millions.

That’s the choice - which do you do?
