Mortal Kombat X

can't get excited about pre-rendered trailers. doesn't really show anything about the game. mk9 was pretty solid though, but the netplay was so bad that i stopped playing the game. if i had more time to play people locally i probably would have stuck with it.

hopefully with killer instinct setting the bar for online play this gen that mk10 will have to step their game up netcode wise.

mk was just really bad. it had the worst input delay out of them by a long shot. ki uses a ggpo type tech so there is no input delay at all and it is incredible how good it it, and this is after capcom flat out lied and said that ggpo was not possible in sf4 because ggpo type technology doesn't support 3d models, only 2d sprites. well f u capcom, you were caught red handed cause ki did it no problems, even with a spectator mode.

sf4 has the little input delay as well but nowhere near as prevelant as in mk.

I loved both, however I'm also not big into competitive fighters so that's why I like it and multiplayer fighter fans really don't. MK and Infamous had really strong single player modes which I liked, which most fighter fans wouldn't give a second glance if it doesn't unlock extra fighters.
 
yeah i have no plans on getting usf4. partially because i'm waiting for a next gen release if they even do it, but i'm also tired of capcoms ethics and just the way they work. i'll get excited for sf again once 5 is announced. sf4 doesn't need 5 more characters, the roster is already too bloated. and these 5 characters are 4 models from sfxt and a cammy clone. then all new stages are just from sfxt. capcom is just lazy as hell and they don't listen to fans either.

I got that feeling about them as well. Which is why I hope The Evil Within, and Mighty Number 9 are good and sell well because I want Capcom to realize it is squandering it's resources, IPs, and talent. They aren't fighting games but I feel Capcom as a whole are going downhill in quality.

Wow, KI's net code is that good? Never played it online, but that's freakin awesome. May just get an XB1 for KI. 🙂

dude i seriously do not understand how they did the netcode for KI. i can play my buddy in arizona (and i'm in maryland) and it literally feels like we are in the same room. and you know how fast paced killer instinct is too. i just don't get how they can do it like that but it's amazing. and you know i'm one picky mofo about lag and stuff hah.
 
Best news is it seems to be coming out for the pc at the same time, no 2 year wait like with mk9. E3 is a week away, cant wait for more footage.

LOL, looks like I'll have to pick up a dedicated KI box, which will consist of an XB1 and a KI game. 🙂 That's pretty crazy man. Hopefully they license that code to other game devs.
 
Everything between MK3 and Mortal Kombat (The current one) was shit. I still have MK2 on my Sega MegaDrive which i play from time to time. Great game! 🙂

Mortal Kombat X seems to be on the money, so I'll be picking it up!

MKX looks pretty much identical to MK9 as far as gameplay goes. i'm not sure how you can say it looks great but the previous one sucked. looks like you're going to be disappointed.

I said everything between MK3 and the current one was shit.

I guess i can rephrase.

MK1, MK2, MK3 and Mortal Kombat (MK9 - i.e the "Current One") were great fun. Mortal Kombat X seems to be on the money, so I'll be picking it up!

Never was a big fan of fighters but this looks good. I may pick it up if I can get a deal on it. Hopefully I'll have another controller in case I break the one I have playing this lol. I could never figure out all the combos for the fatalities. Looks great so far.

oooh okay gotcha, yeah i misunderstood. and i agree with you for the most part. i did have a lot of fun with mk deception on xbox back in the day though. the single player in that game was really good. it was an open world game, almost like an rpg style, with fights in it. it had a lot of things to unlock and stuff too, a lot of mysterious stuff.
