See I wouldn't mind something like that. The last fighting game I played it was just cutscenes with fights in between. Although I don't think they set up x like that, because it would have taken up a lot more resources.

mk9 is pretty much what you are saying. it's just a buncha cutscenes between the fighting. the story in mkx i believe is the same style, and even bigger, and yes, definitely taken up a lot of resources.

you can watch the full story of mk9 on youtube, its like 2 hours long, and that is with all the fights cut out.

I'll be buying this for sure, I've got a couple friends that play MK so we can bang it out online. I'll be getting it digital tho, i don't have a single disc for my ps4
 
I wish someone made an MK fight stick like they do for SF. Viewlix style sticks don't really feel right for MK in my experience. I know they had a limited edition one before and I have seen some that work on 360 or PS3. Those wouldn't work on the new consoles though.
 
If it's good I may get it on PS4 at some point, just because I think the dpad is better and I don't have any sticks for MK. It releases on the same day as GTA V on PC though so I probably won't get it day 1.
 
Yeah the d pad is way better on the ps4. I've been waiting on this mortal kombat for a while.

The only other game I'm really waiting on is fallout
 
if i get this game i'm grabbing it for xbox one instead of ps4, just because i have an x1 joystick already. other reason is because xbl.

wonder if netherrealms is going to allow ps3 joysticks to work with this game. haven't heard anything about it.

Yeah I do too but I don't like viewlix setup for MK. Gotta have that X style setup for me.
 
Was looking at preloads on the PS4. You can play as Goro!!!! If you pay something like $80 for the game!!!!

Yayyyyyyy .... And another franchise bites the dust. I don't buy games that require you to pay more than $60 to actually get the whole game. I'm guessing other stuff is tied to that extra $20 sticker price.

"The Kombat Pack" bonus giving access to four additional playable characters "from klassic kombatants to iconic guest characters."

Well, looks like they lost a customer. Maybe I can get the "Kombat Pack" used a few months after release but I'm sure that the box comes with codes to unlock the characters and that it is a one use code.

you get to play as goro if you preorder the game in general.

even if you preorder the $60 version.

That's good news. Still though, the $80 version gives you 4 more characters. And that pisses me off. I will not pay a cent more for a game to get full content. So, when it's available used and the devs don't see an extra penny from me, I'll buy.

And Microsoft lost me as a buyer of their system over Forza. I was going to go XBone till they decided to make it retarded to get all cars and tracks.

Cause you're gonna use every character? I bet you use all 35 characters in Super Street Fighter 4 too? Same for Forza, you're gonna drive every car? Even the Smart car yes?

I don't even understand this comment. Are you saying, you forgo every game that includes paid for DLC after release? Well, I sure hope you enjoyed gaming, because you're done.

Also, an extra $20 for 4 characters is already the working model of MK. It was the same price in MK9 and Injustice IIRC.
 
I feel like I've seen the same complaint before. If it's pay to win or advance I agree I would not want the game. But most like every other game now this is extra content available after release.

You still get the full game, forza 2 has extra content and I never bought any of it, didn't feel ripped off. Granted this game is a lot shorter.

The base characters will still be in the game and let's be honest here most people play with sub zero or scorpion anyways.

I've never seen a single person who plays mortal kombat play with every single character all the time. You normally have around 3 favorite people to play with and you stick with those people getting all of their combos down.

I already pre ordered mine digitally, and no i didn't get the $80 version. The people i play with are base characters and i don't regret paying for it already.

This is one of those games that only comes out every couple of years and is worth buying the digital version, just like street fighter is worth it too.

Back in the day I got so good at MK2 I would have my opponent choose my character. I wouldn't know who I was going to use. I could usually still win. So much money spent on the game...what a waste lol. Usually now though because of the complexity of the engines and nuances to the combos I try to stick with one or two faves.

The ps4 store says that if you want to play as Goro, you are paying $80

I don't buy games Nib when they pull this shit. I didn't buy a system over it. I'll buy MK X used. The the development make $0 off of me.n
