Well Cumberland MD has a very low house pricing and that's where I am likely to retire. It has 3 major jobs centers a State Prison a Federal Prison and a large Train yard. Plus a new burgeoning marijuana grow industry soon where I hope to get some part time work. I will prune buds with old county grandmas.

Sure, in Silicon Valley or New York there are probably better paying jobs, and more of them (but the cost of living is much higher). I agree. For me it's the dark and cold of winter. I can dress for the cold and they have mostly clear skies. Where I am now goes gray and pretty much stays that way from early December until late April. The Pacific NW can't beat being near the Great Lakes.
