Busting up the unions does not sound like a reasonable response to having 700 idle NYC teachers.

Do you live in NYC?

I do live in NYC and I can vouch for the fact that HS teachers make a killing. The average teacher gets paid 40+k a year. That includes 2 months vacation. They also get a generous pension and health benefits.

40k is no problem, especially if they have a degree and work summers. However, they don't work summers, and they have a very generous pension that sucks cash from NYC taxpayers.

So you feel that having a degree and potentially a Masters is worth less than $23/hr?

What is your background and do you get paid more than they do.
