Hey LR! I was going to give him a call but of course I can't find it. Let him know I too was asking and maybe fire his number off to me if he would. I too go way back with him as you may remember.

Yhpm.

I remember when you were having problems with Moonie in your status as an Admin, and me giving you her number and urging you to get to know him, as, despite any differences of opinion, I knew you both as women of principle and reason. ;)

Wilco, roger and like that... :D, Mr Smith...

I keep hearing the tune from 'Bye Bye Birdie' ... The one about Conrad Birdie ... We love you Birdie, oh yes we do... When you're not near us we're blue... Oh Birdie we love you.... hehehehe Maybe it's just that I like Ann Margret...

Moonie, we miss you! Come back! linuxboy misses you especially! I tell him it's probably because he hates himself. ;)

Truly, come back soon!

I don't post everyday. I didn't even notice Moonpie was absent. Moonie is cool, but some of his philosophy was total bs. But keep it hanging, Moonpie.

I ran across a quote from T. Roosevelt today that reminded me of Moonbeam:

"The best thing you can do is the right thing; the next best thing you can do is the wrong thing; the worst thing you can do is nothing"

Come back Moonie, please?!?

Moonie was cool. You could either get thoughtful or cross after his/her posts.
You got to learn a lot about other members in their reactions.

still not convinced that LunarRay and Moonbeam aren't the same person ;)

I just assumed my ignore list was just working really, really well.

Moonbeam was a complete asshole to a lot of people in P&N, I'm glad he's not posting anymore.

Like some people already said he used to be much more tolerable, but over the last couple of years he really started to go overboard.

Wait a minute here, should not a Anand tech secret identity of any Anand tech poster be the highest of all scared missions of this forum and its administrator's? I have no objections to a personal Moonbeam friend like LunarRay commenting about Moonbeam's motivations, but when an administrator leaks personal secret contact information to anyone, don't we have a previous precedent that even administrators can't always be trusted to respect a poster's identity.

After that, all I can say, is that I respect what ever moonbeam decisions choose to make. As for me, for all I know, Moonbeam might be my next door neighbor but probably not. But it should be no business of mine regarding a fellow posters place of residence or personal data.

Oh good lord.

There are a lot of us here who are actual friends with one another, beyond simple on-forum exchanges. If I give my phone number to one of you guys, you're someone I trust to treat it responsibly. That means if you give it out to someone else, I'd trust that you had a good reason for it and the recipient was a decent human being with a reason to talk to me.

If you don't feel like that, don't give your phone number to a mod or admin! It's not like it's required for signup. Sheesh.

Moonbeam seems a nice guy. I am sure he will return.
Some of his forum adversaries are going to need his advice though...

The only real experience I have w him is from l&r where basically his response to ever post or question was that I or whoever hated ourselves so much, that it was the cause if the problem. I never really got any good advice from him and in general he annoyed me. But then again I only read his posts in the last yr or so .

LOL, maybe Moonie has multiple personalites?

By George you got it.... Exactly...

IF some person or another is a bigot, lets say... and Moonbeam adopts that person's personality and while in that disguise vomits all the same kind of verbiage back to the bigot... reflections... then I'd think Herr Moonbeam has as many of them there personalities as there are.

The bit that I have long thought about is feelings - transmissions of some sort from a body part or another mind location. They can be both real and imaginary but possessed by the individual... Say a stubbed toe... the sensation of pain can't be fully understood by anyone but the stub toed person... How in heck can I explain how my toe hurts or you explain that to me... the frame of reference does not exist, imo.

So... to dialog on a topic that involves such criteria it is at best cloudy... All one can possibly do to comment on what someone is saying that is seen to be offensive [in this case] to someone is to toss back offensive - hopefully to the receiver - something.

Now then and imo; some folks can't stand to read or get into a dialog with Moonbeam. They get very mad and I wonder why but they don't. They never ask themselves why such or something evoked such reaction in themselves.

Moonbeam often posts with the term 'self hate' included. I wonder if it is possible to issue hate without having hate somewhere within... a pure frame of reference, as I see it. And is that anger a method to deal with guilt.. unknown guilt but real non-the-less... I wonder..

I disagree with Perknose (which I am sure amazes him ;-) ), I feel that Moonbeam was always a troll and I called him on it for years and years (Moontroll). He was "distinctive", I cannot disagree with that - his apparently drug addled posts from his earlier days changed, but one of the finest? I guess if you rank trolls, he was one of the finest trolls.

I hadn't even noticed he was gone until this thread was posted. Since we have been replying to each other for years, I am glad to hear that he is OK.

Hmm. I've never considered the "unknown guilt" angle before. That's a real mouthfull!!

I'm sure Moonbeam is well aware of being a complete asshole to a 'lot of folks'... I wonder how complete of an asshole the 'lot of folks' are... maybe not to Moonbeam but to someone via their statements and beliefs?

I've yet to see Moonbeam take off after someone who was sans an asshole full of undigested venom.
