i should be on around 9pm est.

just set up the private match.. if you are not comfortable setting up matches or game modes let me know.

u are going to have to invite people to the game.. party chat wont work for this unless we only have 8 people.

if u have everyone add on u contact list then we are fine. i will also add everyone to my friends list so i can help out.

I don't know exactly how it works since I've never done a private match before. Are you saying it's not possible for people on your friends list to join your session in progress? If so that kinda sucks. I'll just have to do my best to invite people as they come online. If you want to join in and I haven't invited you, just send me a message and I'll get to it as fast as I can.

And yeah, let's not worry about forming an Xbox Live party. The limit is just 8 people. Better to just all get into a MW2 room and stick together that way. Make sure your chat channel is set to game chat (it should automatically be on game chat unless you are in an XBL party).

if you set up a private match there is an option to leave it open for people on your friends list to join. i dont think people who are not on your list can.. if u are relying on the anantechlist to find people. for private matches 18 is the cap. other than that u have 3 options. game mode game map or something..


also you can take the entire group back to the lobby to do ranked matches if we are short people. rock and roll.
 
Glad I got to join you all for a few games, it was fun. Still bummed I got blasted by Cuda in the Last Man Standing game.

I won't be able to make it every week but I'll try to join when I can. I was honestly surprised that my wife let me play at all. I know, I'm whipped!....and I like it.
 
gg everyone. sorry about that confusion in the beginning. we get punked by those swat guys.

i think we got up to 16 people at one point.


we lasted till about 11:30pm est. then i got off. i think 3 people we left after 11:30.
we also have a couple people we can probably add to that list up top.

we also ran a headshot only game that was fun.

i will say people here need to go figure out that that other game modes are. alot of people didnt know what sabotage, demo,.... anything with a bomb was. doesnt seem popular here.

I wish I could have made it, shit came up at work and I didn't get home til almost 11. I'll be there next week.

I'm good with any game type except S&D...as neat as the concept is with only 6 vs 6 and one life it gets old pretty quickly. It's essentially Counter Strike with fewer people.
 
Enjoyed it as well.

The knife battle was actually funny as hell.

The only thing I never want to do again is 3rd person -- man I hated that.

Otherwise everything was cool.

Not as much team work going on as I thought there would be (basically everyone going after Kabob which didn't work anyway) but then again we never really divided up into "teams".

Thanks for having me and sorry to all you guys I tagged with the old grenade launcher, LOL. Although not all my kills were with that.

EDIT - I should mention I have always like sabotage, CTF, and Domination myself. I prefer something with an objective in mind vs straight up kill for points (which I will lose).

Well, it's hard to work on teamwork when most of the games are FFA including FFA knives only and Last Man Standing. The best chance we had was on the Demolition game at Sub Base and I thought our team did pretty well. When push came to shove and we had to destroy the "B" bomb we held it, then worked towards the "A" bomb.

As for me being "enemy #1" I didn't mind, I enjoy it, although it was funny that you thoguht I was toying with that last guy by chasing him down. I was using a UMP and he was what, 30-40 yards away? Why take a long shot (with a gun that inaccurate) and potentially not kill him while giving away my position? It's much safer/smarter to go in for the guaranteed kill, even if it takes a little longer. Always stack the odds in your favor! Despite the fact I didn't win that match it was probably my favorite match of the night.

And personally I really liked 3rd person...it's different and you've got to take into account that people can look around walls now (the one thing I hate).
 
Well I had no idea what you were carrying, it just looked like you were stalking him which is why I was messing with you.
 
Oh I thought it was funny. But even if I had an M16 I still would have chased him down (maybe not so far) to get the guaranteed kill.
 
Sorry about last night. Wasn't aware that Thursday was the night, and didn't want to ditch my friends. I'm in for next Thursday for sure though.
 
It was definitely a fun bunch of games! One thing about third person is that SMGs seem to be way better. You don't have nearly the sight range you get in first person mode, so the added range of ARs doesn't help. And I think the better hipfire of SMGs helps a lot in third person too because sometimes you forget to aim down the sight.
 
we will have to refine some game modes we like and what maps they work on.

i can agree on some of the objective games it was very quiet.


lets start and try to create a playlist the will be fun. i did try and turn off killcam for everymatch.. do we want to keep that?


so last night we did these

14player free for all on rust
ffa knife only battle on rust
last man standing -- no killstreaks -- 9 lives -- terminal/estate
CTF on scrapyard -- 6 on 6 i think
3rd person demo on sub base -
ffa head shot only on sub base
sabotage on some map?
domination on some map?
and lots of other ffa and tdm.


i personally would like to play more objective games.
put in some team death match - 9 lives

lets see what works and fine tune the list from there.
 
I enjoy anything on Rust cause I just love the chaotic insanity that little map creates. Would I want to do it all the time ... no, but in general I like it.


I am like JoPh I like the objective stuff STF, Domination, Sabotage.


Isn't there some sort of game where one team has to defend an HQ and the other tries to capture it and then you swap later on? That might be good too.

A good mix of F4All, TDM, and objective stuff is the key. Perhaps always start and end the night an a F4All style match.

they have headquarters which is a neutral site goes up and both teams try to take it. once one team takes they have to defend it untill it gets taken over.
 
I think I must be boring...I really have the best time on plain ol team deathmatch. hahaha...I've tried most of the other game modes before and they just dont do it for me.

That being said, if there is anytime to try things just for shits and giggles its in a private match with cool people like we did last night. I just would have liked more vanilla death match.

The knife only rust round was pretty funny. My roommate was watching that the whole round and was just dying laughing. I still dont know what "just warming up" achievment is. hahaha.
 
As I mentioned my favorite match of the night was FFA Last Man Standing on Estate. I also really enjoyed Demolition at Sub Base (and the fact that it was 3rd person).

I dunno how well TDM last man standing will work...if you get down to it you may have 1 vs. 4 at the end. I'm willing to try anything once though.

You're not alone GMTP, TDM is my favorite game type as well but I enjoy them all to some extent or another.
