The tactical knife is an attachment for handguns. Greatly reduces the cooldown time for your stab attack. It doesn't make the initial stab any faster, but if you're faced with a group of enemies, you are much more likely to be able to stab more than one of them if you have it.

To unlock it, you need to get 75 kills with the USP or M9, or 100 kills with the .44 Magnum or Desert Eagle. First playthrough I got it for the USP, but this time I'm getting it for the Magnum because it's a much more useful gun for other things as well.
 
Ok so after reading about the tac knife from you guys I have been on a mission tonight to try and get there. What a pain in the a$$. Running around doing nothing but using a handgun against ARs, LOL.

Anyway worked my way to 25 kills for now.

I will say this it is forcing me to be much more stealthy and try and sneak up close enough to be effective so perhaps that will translate to better play with an AR as well.

One can hope.

Wanna know the easiest way?

Use the First Recon class and go stabby mcstabberton on everyone with the .44/tac knife combo.

If you can use the .44 in a custom class, then all kills with it using the first recon class count. Tac knife kills count as a kill for that handgun, since it technically is a handgun attachment.

Took me like 5 rounds my first time through to unlock it.
 
Well I managed to get on a roll in a few games Sat with the USP and got the 75 I needed.

I actually played late at night on Sat and in 1 game we lost all but me and 3 others and we were on Wasteland. I ended up going like 18 and 3 or something as I just spent my time sneaking around as quick and quiet as I could with my USP and knife and ended up getting these 3 guys constantly. It was pretty nice and actually really showed me that the run and gun philosophy is not always the proper course of action.

I don't think the wife will let me join in. I had game nights Tuesday (CoD 4 nostalgia night) and last night (Forza 3 night), methinks 3 in a row is a pipe dream. Have fun though!

really? you spend money on second account so you friends dont get mad that you're playing without them?
 
who is hosting? i can do it if no one else is on. but i wont be able to get on early like last time. i should be on shortly after 9est......
