AI rendering as a bew project & renovation visualization tool

Parameters used in Magnific Mystic v2:

* Realism = OFF (soon we will just call it "Zen", it's cleaner).
* Creative Detailing = 82%
* Resolution 4k

Can it turn the picture into a material and cut list?

I haven't dug in that far yet, but there are some really interesting packages available:

There are a number of neat things going on in the AI world right now:

* Automatic architectural design
* Automatic interior design
* Sketch, photo, video, or text prompt to photorealistic output
* Gaussian splats as 3D options (now you can turn a 2D photo into a 3D scene)

For example, retexture was just released:

Spaces to navigatable 3D:

Toolkits are starting to come together:

I'd be interested in seeing the filter system they're using to trap smoke, grease, and steam. I'd also like to see how it's maintained.
Every high volume hood I've installed vented to the exterior, clearly not a viable solution in a high-rise apartment.

ours moves the grass in the back yard on high :)
I'll get something similar for the new house.

I like those cheap LED light strips but so many require a smart phone app to control and thats a no go for me

I searched for DC lighting for the new house and fell down this rabbit hole.
18 gauge wiring, raspberry pi smart 3 way switching circadian color changing perfect dimming integrate or not, powers direct from my 48V storage battery on the PV system so a power outage would be a complete non-event.
It's a hell of a rabbit hole!!

I gave up on cheaper options for this stuff a long time ago which is why about 70% of the house is on Hue. Each room has its own remote next to the regular switches. It's easy to set up scenes and HomeKit integrated. Also helps to be married to somebody who can get most of them at a discount.

Our place has a microwave/hood combo that recirculates. It's two bad ideas combined into a single clusterphuck.

This is about 90% of the places I have ever lived and all they do is make noise.

Next condo is going to have an exterior vented hood.

Hue works with that ATX LED lighting I linked above.

I would for sure go low voltage if was doing a new build SFH or completely gutting a condo. The next place we move into will likely have been built around 1920 so I'm probably stuck with line voltage accepting products.

I will send them my plans and they will cook up a design for me.
I love the seamless dimming and changing colors to match the time of day, the smart 3 way switching, all of it.
My solar panels will provide the power directly to them via a modest 48V battery in a cabinet. I will also put in low voltage outlets off the same system, POE etc. This is so much fun.

It should be required by code. I was blown away when I saw this set up in my new home. It's a pretty nice house with a few really poor details. I've corrected most of them, but my wife doesn't want me tearing up the kitchen to install a proper hood and exterior vent. The ceiling over the range is about 11' high, so there would be a bit of work involved. She also doesn't want me working on the 12/12 roof to install the vent, thinks I'll fall. She's probably right.

It is an annoying way builders often cheap out especially if the stove is sitting on an exterior wall. Takes so little effort to make something useful.

Ours goes right out the wall, no roof to mess with.
Wish I had that option. I either have to go up with a kick in the duct to miss the roof valley, or go through the wall into the closet behind it and out through the side wall. The closet is in my MIL's bedroom, and she wouldn't be happy with a 6" duct running through it at shelf height.

I get nervous about battery backups like this that are poised towards heavily inductive loads just due to the huge loads needed at startups of compressors, etc. Also putting it behind a fridge that runs and vents heat behind it is just a bad environment.

Midnite solar AIW MN15-12KW inverter and all things for solar and backup.

Coupled with as many of these as you desire, 16 KWH battery.

One of the members at the DIY solar has coupled his two EV's back to this system for 150 KWH of storage for an extended outage. Note that this is a Kia and a Hyundai, not some brand specific fanboi wankpanzer apartheid boy clusterfuck.
