So once someone figure out how to save offline it's GG?

If you don't care about regional interactions and want to play a single city, as the servers actually do handle all the stuff outside of your immediate active city.

All this does is remove the 20 minute timer that closes your game if you get disconnected. You still have to be online when you start the game up.

So, whats really funny about this is that apparently lots more people bought this game than they anticipated on the day it came out. What's really funny is that anyone with a brain expected anything less than what happened. What's even funnier is that EA really doesn't care because they already got your money, fools. What's even funnierer is they openly berate their customer base, but lie about something as blatant as DRM. I could go on, but then you'd just call me a hater.

Bolded for truth. EA is laughing until mass refund requests happen.

SimCity: Global Thermal Nuclear War Edition.

You know, there was an old RTS/"City Builder" game that was very much like this. It was set in the future where you'd build your settlement, and the AI neighbor would build theirs, and you would end up attacking each other with various weapons that got more and more brutal as you researched better technologies. Eventually it got to the point where you would be launching ICBMs at each other, nuking each other's cities or parts thereof.

I can't remember the name of the game, but heh... yeah.

So, what I described was a little too close to Starcraft, Warcraft, or Alpha Centauri, however, I was thinking of similar building to SimCity/Populous, with the invasion play something like Dark Souls but with a Gods twist. I just like saying Global Thermal Nuclear War...it rolls off the tongue..um..and fingers..just gotta remember not to hit the red button.

Sounds like Rise of Nations.
