American Battleships!!! Yes!!! This is why I want to play the game at all. Haven't played in over a month... I'll have to try it again.
 
USN no longer has fighter complements to its torp bombers for loadout purposes. I think its 3 fighter 2 DB now if you want to have fighters at all.
 
Any idea as to what year it will be when the rest of us will be able to get in on WoWarships?

So I picked up the ship pack to get into the game and start testing/playing. I have to say I really enjoy this game a lot more than World of Tanks. I just wish they would make some fixes to matchmaker! It still drives me insane. One or two simple rule changes for MM would make the games so much more enjoyable for everyone.

Like both teams have the exact same number of top tier ships, or no more than 1 ship deviation between teams in terms of tier levels, etc)... Heck I was in a match that placed 3 tier 4 battleships, 4 tier 4 cruisers, and 2 tier 3 destroyers against 2 tier 3 battleships, 3 tier 2 cruisers, and 1 tier 5 destroyer and 4 tier 3 destroyers... All it had to do was rearrange some of the higher tier ships that it overloaded one team with to the other team and it would have been a much more enjoyable match for everyone involved.

Yeah the MM is pretty damn frustrating right now. I know they've got it fast and loose because of the low player base, but the tier spread is terrible especially higher up. I had my T7s getting ROFLstomped repeatedly by T10s last night :'(
 
Having been HE'ed one too many times, I am packing this game up again... but I should have enough games to get the Arkansas CBT ship, if I ever play it again.

I saw that yesterday, that they were giving the closed beta players the USS Arkansas when it goes to open beta. I checked and I had 128 battles, easily past their 49 requirement. Woot!
 
I wonder if I made the cut... not sure if I have done 49 matches or not. Is the cutoff already final or is it still open until the end of closed beta?

It's still open, I assume until end of closed beta. The way the wording was written on Wargaming's website, that's what it seems like.

From Wargaming:
Players that have fought at least 49 battles during the CBT will be awarded a tier IV premium battleship—USS Arkansas. Because of this exclusivity, she'll no doubt become the calling card of Closed Beta testers! In addition to the ship itself, Arkanasas will come with a unique camouflage pattern.

So fascinating to read the stories about these ships. The USS Arkansas had an interesting story with a tragic ending.
 
I've got about half a dozen games in now. If you buy the current humble bundle you get beta access, a tier 5 ruskie, 1000 gold and a week of premium.

wrong. There's 1 key for a WOT invite. The WOWS package includes a beta access key, in addition to that another key for 1000 tokens, a week's of premium and the tier 5 russian cruiser Murmansk.
 
Is it common for a destroyer to take out a battleship?

I saw one do this in a jingles video, the destroyer got up close and wrecked it with torpedos.

Yup. It's so satisfying lol. You either have to have a decent team doing their jobs, allowing you to sneak in, or a dumb BB that isn't paying attention. Same for CV, they can get wrecked just as easily.
 
Dumb question: do we get to keep the premium ships? I ended up with a Murmansk something or other premium. Probably from the humble bundle.
