Ah nice game. So I have a t46 I'm playing around with, what you guys doing to make it work, I'm currently finding the hard way how one can be one shotted hehe.

And it looks quite highly polished for a beta.

Typically upgrade Suspension and Engine so you can dodge a little.

Upgrade turret and gun, giving you more hitpoints, armour and pew-pew.

For the first four tiers, you usually want to get out of them as fast as you can so it might be best/more fun if you aim to get to the next tank asap.

Your crew are the MOST important component of your tank. Upgrading them with the 20,000 credits option is nothing short of essential at Tier 5 and above. Transferring crews is 'okay' if you stick to the same weight/class of tank (Light-> Light for example, Light-> Medium incurs heavier penalties).

My T-34-85 has a 100/100/98/100/100 crew right now. Going to keep them and train them up with specialisations and probably move them up to the T-44 when I can.

This... I'm just about to move from the A-20 to the T-34 and it's not been worth the time/energy to upgrade the A-20 crew. They are at 94-95% but the light -> med means that they will drop to 75% even with the 20k retraining fee :(

Can you "sell" crew for monies?

Unless you are running out of space for tanks, I'd keep your A-20. It is a neat money maker and gives you a break from the hurly burly peekaboo sniping you sometimes have to do in a larger, Medium Tank.

You learn a lot about being an effective scout by moving onto your Medium tanks or by playing Artillery yourself for a little bit.

Driver and Commander in a Light Tank are most important. You aren't going to be shooting much so just being able to see further and drive that little bit better is an advantage you want.

For a beta its been pretty good for me. I'd like to see more explanation of what the different penetration and damage values mean in the game world.

As far as problems, occasional rubber-banding is the worst. A minor graphic on is that if you ride around in an open tank vehicle through brush and stuff, you can see the graphics of it looking down in your enclosure even though the rest of the tank blocks it off from normal view.

Yeah I kept the A-20. Just bought the T-34 (and 75% crew) and got 4 kills with the 76mm F34 (free xp FTW). The A-20 really should have access to a better 76mm gun, it would make a difference.

The T-34 seems underpowered though - it has the same engines as the A-20 but weights more - it's top speed is 56 kph (or something like that), but I found myself mainly in the mid 30 kphs...

The teleporting should be better in 0.5.5, so that may improve the "rubber banding".

Speaking of which it was scheduled for the 18-19th so must have been delayed...

Oh yeah... liking the T-34 with the limit remover :)

Went toe to toe with a PZIV and pwned it (67% health remaining)

Went up against a King Tiger and got several good hits in and then got lucky

shot_020.jpg

Look at the paint work! *sigh*

but circled well enough to survive till help arrived (it was down to 10%) in the form of a KV-3 which finished it.

Then they started capping our base... managed to rush back and hit three enemy tanks knocking the clock back to zero, buying time before I bought the farm... the team mates arrived and finished them off :)

Got Base Defender 69% in the end of game report :)

I don't get the SPG aspect. From what I read, you should be seeing a top down view of the map as an SPG person which allows you to use artillery to take out tanks. I see the same map view as a tank does though and can't seem to hit anything unless its right in front of me. What am I doing wrong? I see other artillery taking me out from across the map when I'm hiding behind a building so its not a line of sight thing yet when I try to do that, I never get a hit.

Also, how do you sell tanks? I'm not interested in the MS1 anymore, but its taking up a space and I can't figure out how to sell it.

The T-34 really benefits hugely from the 57mm ZiS. Very fast fire rate and the best penetration from the T-34's perspective.

For a Tier 5 tank, the T-34 is extremely nimble and well armoured. Comparing a Tier 4 Light Tank's speed and manueverability to a Tier 5 Medium Tank is a bit Apples and Oranges if I'm honest.

0.5.5 is not the rubberbanding fix. It will add two new maps and a couple of minor balancing fixes such as exp changes for certain upgrades etc. Latest 'update' news on the Forum is that the patch will be out on the 20th... yet on the 17th they said 18th/19th. Go figure :)

0.6.0 is the 'Warping' fix which brings around a lot of changes including the American Tank Tech Tree... due out 'Early November'.

Go to the Depot. It will give you the option to 'Sell' tanks.

Press the Shift key. In a normal tank it switches from 'third-person' to 'sniper mode'

For SPG's, it switches from 'third person' to 'artillery mode'

Thanks! I didn't see the sell tank option. Its probably right in front of me though.

Shift, eh? I know control allows you to call support to sections of the mini map, but didn't know about shift.

I may just have to try this game. Sounds like you guys are having quite a bit of fun. Are there some essential guides I should definitely read before playing? Besides this thread of course.

Edit: Their web server is down. Can't even get registered to their forums. Bummer. I did apply to the BETA though. See what happens.

First step: Use the gold to purchase 30 days of premium. This is a must and will instantly help you enjoy the game more.

Essential guide? No, just go in and play and get your tank chassis blown to smithereens a few times, then come back to this thread and read up. There is also a guide in the first post which makes more sense after you'd had a few rounds :)

They are doing a lot of maintenance on their site and forums. Data centre issues a few days ago with their maintenance so they're having to do additional work.

The account you register up to the Beta with is automatically created on the forum. Once you have your username and password, throw that into the forums and away you go.

I just started this a couple days ago. Thanks to everyone for posting the tips and help. I moved into the T26 last night. I haven't upgraded to premium yet, what does that do for you?

50% extra credits and 50% extra experience per fight.

Means you and your crew level up faster :)

Hit F1 and have a look at all the commands... or look earlier in the thread for the screenshot of the "help"

Yeah playing off premium really feels like your punishing yourself unnecessarily.

Got the big 75mm gun for my PZIV lastnight, I am now a threat to Tigers/IS's/KV's, finally!
