Oh man had a rough night on MM. Went 0-10 but finished the night with two straight wins. Including a nice defense against a 7 pack of Type 59s on Artic Region :D

I finished off the the M3 Lee last night. Thank god. Now on to the T1 Heavy. Double the hit points, better armor, slower and slightly better gun. Still gets its ass handed to it by a KV though.

Playing the Lee and my VK I forgot how easy it is to get confederate. I hadn't gotten that in a while on my KV and KT. On one game with my VK I hit 12 out of 15 of the enemy tanks, unfortunately I only got 3 kills. I really like my VK, but unfortunately it seems to get stuck fighting tier 8/9 tanks way too often to be useful.

I did also get steel wall with my Lee. Took 17 hits in a game with tier 3-5 tanks. Pretty surprising since any other game I've maybe bounced 1-2 shots before I was dead.

Ouch, I would've gone through the sherman jumbo. The T1 heavy is ..... very bad, to say the least. You think the Lee is bad? Wait till you see IS and tigers and T29s in your games. :p

You're talking about the VK3001P or 3601? Or the 2801 scout? :p

I"m at work right now, so I can't check, but its the tier 6 one that leads to the tiger and also branches off to another tank that then goes to the panther (do believes its the 3601). I elited it a while back, but hadn't played it in awhile. With premium ammo (bought some when it was on sale for 1-2g a shot, unfortunately I ran out) that tank can dominate a game. Its one of the few premium ammos that increases pen and damage, that combined with the excellent RoF and suberb accuracy just shreds through tanks.

Months ago when I played with my brother and a friend, the three of us would platoon with the our VKs and premium ammo (was on sale at the time). It was like playing on easy mode, combined we would account for around 10 kills each game. The three of us could shred a tiger before it could get 2 shots off. That ammo also reliably pierces turrets of everything except the american tanks, so with 3 VKs shooting your turret, chances of something bad happening is pretty high. If that ammo ever goes on sale again, I'll definately stock up on a few hundred golds worth. It works wonders on tier 8 tanks and helps you get out of MM slumps.

The 3601 with premium ammo on that (easily unlocked) tier 8 gun is just straight up cheating. That gun is phenomenal, but only with gold ammo. After going up through the american heavy and medium lines to tier 8/9 with their great turrets, horrible hulls, and mediocre guns, I was shocked to see that gun available on the 3601. At first I tried it with the regular ammo, which is just not usable. Then I saw the pen and damage from the gold ammo...holy shit.

Top gun on the E8 (its american counterpart) is 128 pen, 115 damage (x21 ROF=2415). Its a good gun, but its also one of the last things you will unlock! But the 3601 gets 225 pen and 165 damage with gold ammo (x13.3 ROF=2194). AND it's almost immediately unlockable and mountable in the stock turret! WTH!?!?!?

Regarding the T1, it's not as bad as people say (including me). In the right battles you will get more than a few steel walls. It's just so slow, and ugly, that it's less fun to play. The M6 is almost the same. Throw a custom (local, not paid) skin on it so it isn't so ugly and just think about the sweet little T29 you will eventually get.

Well if you are willing to spend gold on the 3601H that gun is great. Most people arent and thus I would take the E8 any day over the 3601 ;) I have driven both. The 3601 can be pretty tough but it is a smaller version of the tiger imo. I sold it and the only reason why I would drive it again is to get the 3002DB if I wanted to get into an E50. The E8 will remain in my garage forever. I like it more than my Type59.

Now imagine being in a pug game against 3 VKs using that gun and ammo. It is pretty much an "I win" button. Its also the reason my VK has the highest win/loss ratio of any of my tanks even with 300+ matches played.

I did all this when gold ammo was on sale. So it was 2 gold a shot. You always have gold left over when you get a premium subscription so I used some of that. Works out to about a penny a shot, not a huge deal to buy 250 rounds.

the 3002DB is easily skipped with free xp (even without using gold to convert). Everything in line I already had unlocked from other tanks, and its only around 24k xp to unlock the panther. The stock gun on the panther is about as effective as shooting rocks with a sling shot in most matches its in though.

I never bothered with gold ammo on that conical. The tank for me was just a stepping stone down the medium/heavy line (unlocks both panther and tiger?), so I never bothered. I can see how it will dominate though... but to be honest, if I want a fun tank to drive I just hop into the KV or my t-127. Hoping to get an easy 8 soon (slogging through the sherman right now... boo hoo).

I'd much rather use gold on free exp though. Certain tanks are just crippling to drive without tracks/turrets (E-75, tiger 2, etc)

First, gold ammo is usually not on sale, second even 250 rounds doesn't go far for '300 games' you played. How much would 300 games worh of gold ammo usually cost?

Well, let's say you shoot just 10 times a game for the amazing gun, that'd be 3000 shells at 5 gold per shell, 15000 gold, which runs about $60+.

I *love* my VK3601. It will always have a place in my garage. I've never tried the conical gun/have never bought gold ammo. I run it with the short88 and it owns. I took me a looonnnngggg time to really figure the tank out but I kick ass day and night in it now. <3

Well on some maps/matchups it's a disaster. Like tier9/10 on Komarin and I'm relegated to hunting other low tiers. But as long as there is space to move & flank (or a good sniping spot off to the side so I get side shots on big tanks), I have a great time. VK3601 doesn't really excel at anything but it does few things poorly at the same time. So I can start off in a sniping position then move up and flank or eat some hits w/that 850hp when I see people in trouble. And the little ah heck is surprisingly bouncy with angling.

It is like a mini-tiger, which is fine b/c I love the Tiger H too!

I only used that ammo and gun on the VK when I played with my brother and friend. Maybe 50 games or so. It's cheap for a few games, but if you use it all the time you can really burn through some cash. If I was playing in a tourny though I would definately use that tank and premium ammo (assuming tiers were limited). Once everything is maxed out on the VK and you have a rammer and vents that tank is a fun little sniping tank. I have 332 battles in it, which is more than any other tank at the moment, although the KV and King Tiger are closing in.

If you end up selling a premium vehicle (like the Pz you get in the promotion) do you get any gold or credits back for it?

Holy crap thank god you pointed that out. I didn't read carefully and thought it was 750gold + tier2 tank + slot. And I was like ehhhh I guess it's worthwhile if you want the magazine too.

But 1 month free premium?! AWESOME :D

Even had a poor SU-85 scared and confused b/c he couldn't see me despite me spotting/shooting him. gogo camo skill I guess?

edit: 1 tier 10 on each side. FIVE IS-4s for them. We didn't even get a fucking tier 9. Because tier 8 tanks are so good against IS-4. Bullshit.

Had a match a few nights ago that looked like this

We had T30 + 3 E-50s
They had Maus + 3 IS4s

Yeah they are both tier 9 but is an E-50 really equal to an IS4?
