I didn't realize the Cubs had such an ace up their sleeves.

I was listening to the game on the radio and watching on tv, (fcku joe buck), and heard Scottie's rendition, I'd say he mangled it, but that's being kind.

I'm honestly happy with either team winning. As a Red Sox fan, I love Tito and Jon Lester. As a Mainer, I watched Anthony Rizzo on the Portland Sea Dogs AA minor league team. The Sox really blew it trading him... I'm rooting for a close 7 game series.

I'd be more partial to the Tribe if forced to choose but will be happy for whichever team wins. Seeing Rajai Davis get a ring would be nice, the dude gets no respect.

Also: damn, Chip and Stoney were so fricking awesome. I pretty much watched every single game that season (no work during those months! :awe: ), so listening to those guys and their serial stories was like a meta reality show within the game. I actually needed a new update regarding Stoney's awful dentist every week or so. I think the intimacy with that team for that season is why I took that NLCS loss so hard.

I bet this will be one of the least watched world series games since their markets aren't that big.

Seriously... how can someone think that the Cubs/Indians are going to be the least watched world series.
So many factors could make this the most watched worlds series ever
a) Chicago is far from a small market team
b) possibly the largest fan base of any pro sports team
c) the longest drought between championships
d) Cleveland has a similar drought
e) Cavs just won the NBA championship

Same here (big Cubs fan here)! And I have to say that the coaches and players on the Indians are all likable guys. Obviously I'm pulling for the Cubs to win, but it's hard to dislike this Indians team.

Edit: I'd also like to take this opportunity to further complain about the stupid All Star game rule. Here we have the Cubs, who had the most wins in baseball during the regular season, and are at a disadvantage from a home field perspective all because the AL won the All Star game.

Literally zero advantage to have the best record in baseball, from the wildcard series to homefield advantage in the series. there is fuckall for the best team in baseball

I don't mind this so much because it does make the AS game more relevant. Plus, I guess it never bothered me all that much because since starting this thing, the NL has won most of the AS games, I think. Which is great. Fuck the AL, obv.
