Black and white lie, presenting Obama quoting John McCain as Obama speaking his own message.

Funny enough, we saw a somewhat similar thing in the 2008 campaign when Jeremiah Wright quoted someone - I think it was a Bush official - and it was presented for sensational value - regardless if it was a defensible message and the same basic message of Ron Paul - as Wright speaking. But at least Wright was sympathetic to the message he quoted. In this case, Obama is quoting the message to ridicule John McCain.

The ad quotes Obama saying 'if we talk about the economy, we'll lose'.

What he actually said was, 'John McCain actually said, 'if we talk about the economy, we'll lose'.'

By simply cutting off the first part, they're misrepresenting what Obama said.

This is the sort of 'lack of character' issue that deserves to hurt the candidate. If Romney immediately said it was wrong and withdrew it, give him a pass. He didn't.

Bonus: John McCain is reportedly praising the ad for finding a way to use Obama's 2008 attack against him, showing what a character issue he has again.
 
Yep, saw that last night on Dave Matthews. Ex-charman of the RNC Michael Steele says it's just hardball politics. No wonder this country is so F'd.
 
This is the shit Romney will pull. Watch him cheat Dr. Paul out of the nomination by rigging the polls. Just watch his ass. He will do ANYTHING to get himself votes.

I also think that he was involved in a Ponzi Scam. The evidence is staggering.

I don't really want to defend Romney here, but can you back any of this up? How can Romney rig the polls, particularly in the primaries? Second, to what Ponzi scheme are you referring?

Obvious bullshit on Romney's part...but assuming he gets the nomination, does this lie somehow differentiate his character from Obama's in some way? I think not.

Main stream media actively slanders Ron Paul without reason. They omit him from polls. They give praise to other candidates for winning things like straw pulls and then when Paul wins they don't cover it ore they down play it.

Main stream media is actively tampering with votes by giving coverage and favor to certain candidates and none to others. One week the top guy is Rick Perry, then it's Herman Cain, now it's Newt Gingrich... or are they just trying to confuse and troll republicans?

Is the media black balling Ron Paul because they want the republicans to put a week flip flopping liar up against obama? You tell me.

Steele blowing it off may actually be worse since he seems to be saying that there are no boundaries for what you can do to get elected.

More examples that facts and truth have little value to many in the rightwing.
 
Did I just read right, not a single partisan hack has yet come in with "but that's what Obama said", feigning total stupidity (maybe not feigning)? There is hope after all.
 
of course he lied. he is a politician. No matter what party they are they are going to lie. IF this is your reason to not vote for him then you shouldn't vote for anyone.

Re. the OP, that's pretty shameful. Hyperbole is one thing, even the customary lying through misdirection and selective spin, but this is blatant lying. There are multiple levels of wrong and this is about as bad as it gets. It reeks of desperation. Perhaps he's hoping to finally connect with the blood thirsty, Obama-hating fringe ... which brings me back to PokerGuy.
