I don't hate all people that live in Mississippi, and I mean especially the black people, they are oppressed there. I hate that it's a shitty state with shitty policies and where people love the Confederate flag and a big majority love shitty people like Trump.

The entirety of conservative ideology is predicated on the fear of change. While doing what you have never in your whole life had the balls to do, questioning and opposing the status quo, is an act of heroism on the individual level.
