You must be a chump if you think Honda pumps out low-quality cars.
Its too bad American car companies won't realize that lay-offs and short-term revenue plans = bad for the American economy in the long run
Have fun driving your rust-prone small engine poor fuel economy Honduh

Hey Stupidicus, Honda makes great cars. I'd take a Honda over a crappy American bucket anyday.

I love well-made American vehicles as much as the next guy, but poor fuel economy? Can I have some of what you are smoking?

See, this is the problem I see with GM. Saab won't design their own SUV. They'll keep using the Trailblazer. The 9-3 will be a rebadged Saturn Ion with leather seats and the 9-5 will be a rebadged Pontiac G6 or something else. GM corporate doesn't like its brands to do something different.

Think I'm a little off my rocker? Check out the Saturn Ion Redline... its a 9-3 powertrain with a Saturn shell. Granted its supercharged instead of turbo, but everything else enginewise is the same. The engine block is even stamped Saab. Wanna bet that the Ion Redline with some minor interior changes will become the new 9-3? Look at the 9-2, its a Subaru! Not a bad car, but its another rebadge! No ingenuity there.

you are so out of this world it isnt funny.

TFinch2 show me the 20k depreciation of this vehicle and then i will agree.

and you cant compare the 06 to the 07 for residual value.

Tahoes are nice. I wouldn't buy one though.

The only GM I would consider buying is a Vette...maybe a GTO if I got a killer deal on one. None of their other vehicles will ever adorn my driveway. Ditto for Dodge (Viper excluded of course). Ford makes some interesting cars, I love the new Mustang and the Ford GT of course. The new Ford Fusion is pretty good looking as well but I don't think I'd buy one. I do like Ford trucks and if I had a need for a serious truck it would probably be the F-350 or maybe the new Tundra coming out in 2007.

Read about the amazing fuel economy of the new Tahoe, chump.

We have a 96 Diesel Tahoe in the family that still gets 22 MPG with 170k miles. I'm not really impressed with 20 MPG.

I'm eyeing some fuel/exhaust/boost goodies for this summer. I've heard a lot about what these engines can do with just a few bolt-ons. :)

so i drove it today. 35 miles highway both ways. the shift from V8 to V4 mode is silent, no change in noise, no noticable ANYTHING just says "v4 mode" in V4 mode, when on flat surfaces i saw 30-34mpg, once it hits semi inclines you saw it drop to about 24. and in V8 mode it would get 20mpg cruising, and 16 on inclines 12 on hills.

it flips to V4 mode anytime you hit the brakes, start slowing down, are on level surfaces, or going downhill. it flips back to V8 mode anytime you touch the throttle, anytime it needs to accelerate, and once you hit 25mph while slowing down.

it rides SO nicely, its EXTREMELY quiet, im talking no road noise. textures all around are amazing, the forward view is amazing, the lowered dash did a LOT to the view.

when flooring it, the V8 sounds extremely low, i mean crazy low rumble. engine noise is extremely quiet.

turning radius is TIGHT, i mean TIGHT, i did a U turn cuz i missed a turn, and i didnt expect to make it at all and i made it easily.

any questions about the vehicle ask, i drove it for about an hour.

the rave is that NOTHING in the SUV market matches what they offer all around for the price.

they have an instant readout. thats what i was looking at. and reading mpg as i drove.

currently with 500 miles on it, its getting 17.2mpg. in some driving, im not sure on the actual driving itself city/highway, but the MPG can only increase as the engine wears in.
